07-12-2003, 03:49 AM
dude why? the m tech was sick

M50E30
07-12-2003, 05:10 AM
I know the M Tech kit was awesome but I was offered the GTS kit for the same price as I was looking to get for my M Tech. I don't care that there are a bunch of E30's in the GTA with it...there are no crazy E30's in Niagara so I just had too.

BTW - Randy's E30 inspired me to keep my E30 (when I was looking to get an E34 535i) so I always wanted that look.

Thanx! I picked up the 17's for track. I'm using them for now untill I get a stud kit to properly mount the 18's.

Andre,

I dunno man...I still like my 18's way more...just waiting for a stud kit to mount them. I have coilover sleeves going on so I can really lower the car when I park it for the show and shine. So when you come up and see 'em you will probably change your mind.

you are gonna make it look ricey .....

There is the limit when people make their car look sick and perfect but after that next move f_cks it up badly...

hey dave whats the problem that your having with mounting the 18"s on???? im asuming that you are running those long ass lug bolts threw spacers??

from my experience the hub centric H&R track spacers that bolt to the hub, then the rim bolting to the spacers with normal length bolts works great, no wobble at all

Yeah the M-Tech looked nice but the inspiration to keep my E30 was Randy's car. Now that it is no longer I decided to go with the Reiger (I was even thinking of painting my car the same Honda blue at one point but that would have been cheesy).

1) I was running a long "tuner bolt" (pic below) and they were cut shorter to fit. I think that the metal got too hot and the rear wheels almost fell off on the highway.

2) I have never seen those spacers in a dual 4X100 pattern or the proper size I need (8mm for the front and 15mm for the rear).

I have 18" X 7.5" ADR Stage II wheels with 225/35/18 Yokohama Parada tires on them. I seriously don't know how or if an 8.5" wide wheel and tire will fit even if you stretch the tires.

Good luck,
Dave

hmmm i guess you can go 215/40 or 225/35 on a 18" and you will achive the streched look*th-up*

Depends on the offset of his wheels. I wouldn't mind 8.5" wide wheels in the rear and 7.5" in the front but I wouldn't take that risk (if the set up is correct and you run huge bumpstops then it could be possible to pull off).

Yes & yes. :) I like the M Tech with the euro ultra wide wheel look and the GTS kit with huge diamater wheels...so since I have 18's it should look better.

Besides come spring time next year i'm going to bring it back and get some "flaws' taken care of (ie: M Tech door panels properly moulded to the doors and floor work so I can do my 8 point roll cage).

WOW Dave the GTS/M-tech combo is gonna look sweet in MB silver!!!!

Don't change the color what ever you do.. The silver hides the bulky parts :) Can't wait to see the finished product.. and don't worry i will come in due time.

BTW did you use a high solids clearcoat? if so you might wanna look into something more chip resistant for the front bumper. Mine is in the paint shop right now cause the clear couldn't hold up to the 401/QEW stone throwers.

Don't worry guys the silver is stayin'. And as for stone chips i'm getting the front end covered in the clear 3M film in Oakville ( www.shieldpro.com )...don't want to be painting the bumpers every year.

I for sure want to check out/be involved in Bimmercruise O3. I'll have to stop by sometime, I head down to the Niagara Falls quarry almost every other weekend to do some dirt biking or play with my RC moster trucks, usually on Sundays. I need to stop putting so much money into toys and more into my car.
