What was your bad experience, STALKER?

It was with the Tint King in Mississauga. First the rear window had so many silver spots, where the tint did not adhere well. Both front windows were so badly but there were huge gaps in the front and top portions of the tint. When I took it there to get it fixed the little rat owner didnt want to fix and then when he did, he just used the same pieces for the front window but just moved them to block more light. Luckily my brother is a lawyer and he went down and had a little talk with him, lets just say the next time I was in there he was much more willingly to help. I would never go back there, the guy that runs the place is such an ass and has no idea how to do business or do a nice tint job. This was about 5 years ago though. I even contacted the owner of tint king about him, and he was not surprised at my complaints. The owner of Tint King on the other hand was very nice and helpful, but my brother was the one that really fixed the problem. Its nice to have a lawyer in the family.

Interesting - I was going to take mine at the same place, guy quoted me over the phone for 150+ since a BMW is a "big job."

If its the same owner as before, I wouldn't go there if I was you. I forget his name, short little guy.

ya this place does a horrible job! ill never go back to a tint king ever anymore. Me and a couple of my friends went to get ours done there, and within month or so, ALL of our tints started to peel, bubble etc.

then when we showed them what was happening, they made us pay $$$ to get it fixed, even though they say they guarantee their tints for some period of time.

Serious, thought there was a lifetime warranty or something. Guess I'll look elsewhere.

Chitown, don't go there. Their prices are cheap for a reason.

Tint FX on Heritage in Markham.

Do any of these places use machines to cut the tint? And what type of tint is the best????

07-16-2003, 12:51 AM
The guy at tint king quoted me over the phone on my 2dr for about anywhere from $150-250 I think, I guess that is fairly cheap? *shrug*

thats a big range he gave you. If you want my advice, stay away from there.

07-16-2003, 01:37 AM
Yeah you told me, but you're the only one that's had bad news about the place...and I don't know any other tint places in my area :)

07-16-2003, 01:52 AM
I have heard others have problems with them too, but hey, its your $$$ and your choice. Just giving you my 2 cents.

Have you gone to FX auto, they use Forumula One tint and they use a computer to cut the tint I believe. Im leaning towards them so far. Any experience with them??

07-16-2003, 04:34 AM
I'll shop around and get quotes before I get it tinted for sure, not saying I'm going with them for sure, but if they're my only choice then I suppose I'll take a chance...

Had my Civic done at Tint FX. Excellent work.

The 3 Series, however, has some tint 'issues' that I want to address well before a guy has a go on my E46. Dot Matrix and the window seal are two things the shop must have experience with. Thornhill Tint is getting some godd bimmer press...

What is Dot Matrix?

07-16-2003, 05:22 PM
Small uneven surface with bumps at the top of back window. Tint no likey...*mumble*

Lots of info about it on E46Fanatics and Bimmerfest...
