Just wondering what CAIs you all have and how much you paid for them. I don't really know if I want to spend $300-400 on an intake.

If you're not sure if it's worth spending that kind of money on, then build one on your own and see how you like it. A few members (including myself) have fabricated their own intake pipes for about $20 to $100 worth of parts (price depends on the materials you used).
Do a search on this board for HOME MADE INTAKE and you'll find some instructions and pics.

If you like what the home made one does for you, either keep it, or spend the money on a commercial version. (they all work the same though if you use high quality parts).

check out the bmp design intake. it is pretty good....watch out for deep deep puddles though..... the filter sites right in front of your brake duct....

just buy a K&N drop in filter that goes in your stock airbox $80. same gain just not much difference in the sound. and atracts less attention these days if u should be pulled over and have to pop the hood.

I couldn't find the bmp design intake, either that or I didn't know what I was looking for on their site :)

I'd like to get a CAI though, I really want the sound, plus an exhaust system later on to sort of compliment it. But I suppose I can wait.

No, I don't.
But since it's my dad's car and not mine, I won't be getting one in it.

But Contra's message made me very interested in it...i wanna make one now! :D

That is short-ram right? Is there a huge diff. between CAI and SR?

it depends..i am told SR gets you power faster, but not as much, a CAI gets you a bit maybe 1 or 2 more but its higher up in the RPM band....if u want sound mainly short ram is best

Empowerd can hook you up with Carbonio Carbon Fibre intakes for around 350-450 and they flow muhc better than leading competitors such as dinan, and ecis

Wow, quite expensive...but when the time comes I'll definitely consider it. Any sound clips by any chance?
