It's a tech tip from the Bav Auto site ...

"Lowering Temperature Setting For AC Fan.
Most BMWs have two switches in the radiator that control the auxiliary fan in front of the AC condenser. These are usually set to 91º and 99º Celsius. Replacing the 91º with an 82º switch and swapping the 99º with your 91º switch will turn the fan on at a lower temperature setting helping the engine to run cooler. Another way to help when running a little warm is switching to a cooler thermostat. This can help older cars, but newer cars operate within a narrower temperature range. If their thermostat is too cool, the engine will stay in warm-up mode, effecting performance and emissions."

I'm not looking for power here, just having the bimmer run a little cooler would be nice. I've run cooler t-stats in other cars to good results, but am assuming optimum range is a bit cooler on the BMWs. Thoughts?
