Well ! The 318is was my fun runabout! I also had a CLK 55 AMG untill recently wich i sold to get the M3! But i decided to save up and get the M6 if it comes out! For now i have bought a Starion and i am fitting an EVO engine in it to use untill then. As for the insurance i never cared about that but for the Merc i was paying 2900 whitch is about $3500 dollars! So insurance is expensive i guess! But no pain no gain!!! lol

I would be wary in purchasing the first model year of any new car - especially bmw.

the first e46s had LOTS of problems with them.

Where does everyone go to find out about upcoming BMW's and put there names on the list to reserve one? Dealership?

for that kind of $$$ why not a Porsche?I don't understand,if you want a true sports car go all the way,unless ofcourse you want a sedan.Let's see...brand new e46 M3 or a 2002 996...hmmmm

Well!!!! First of all i need four seats! And i mean 4 real seats! So the Porche is out of the question. As for the M3 i love it but too many of them around! The M6 remember is supposed to have a F1 derived V10 so it should be quite a sports car(free revving 550 bhp) ! Plus as i intend to modify it it should be individual(how many M6's will you see on the road????). As for where to ask about new BMW's i went to the dealer and spoke to him and he was really helpfull!!!!!

Ok then a used 2001 996 and a used 97/99 540i(real 4 seats) for the same $$$.IMO after 300 or so HP it becomes a real waste of money unless you have the space to run it daily, and I don't mean for a 20 sec street race against a ricer, and can afford the tickets and manage to wash down the grub with a glass of tap water, courtesy of the local sheriff!
