View Full Version : NA mods for M20 2.5L

06-26-2003, 11:57 PM
Hello! I'm wondering what kind of NA mods can be good on a M20
first a chip. but i'M thinking of rising compression of the engine, M20 does really have a High compression ( somethni aroud 8.8:1 ) so maybe if i can increase it it will make a difference?
or it's a bad idea?
Next year i will maye rebuilt my engine ( he got 256 000km) so if i do make a rebuilt maybe som mods can be made.

any advice?

and how can it cost, i wont do it myself, i dont have the equipement or the experience

I've never done this on a bmw engine, but maybe you can bore out your 2.5L to 3.0L or even a moderate 2.8L.

Ther are a couple of places that sell stuff for the m20.Ireland Engineering is one that has the most of it.www.IEmotorsport.com and www.metricmechanic.com is the other there is also AC Shcnitzer good luck with them.Ireland has it all from top to bottom and other performance goodies.Have fun.

Who has the M52?I have an M20 in my five that will soon be stroked and turbo charged.I have all of the parts and will do it in the fall when it gets cooler,it's like 115 out side and thats not a good way to brake in a turbo motor.Go to www.roadrunnerbmw.org and then photos I think. From there dounload the vids from PIR and Firebird Main. Those are two of the three plases that we race out here in Arizona. You will be riding in an M3.PIR is a nice track The Rolex boys race there.O yea and those REDNECKS from nascar.
