Went to Santa Pod raceway in the UK on Sunday.
I managed to get in 2 runs, as it was very busy. The weather was wet to start with, so I didn't expect my first run to be any good, it was also my first time at a drag strip.
I got to the line, I was against a little Renault Clio 16v. I held the throttle at 3.5k and then slipped the clutch out when the lights went green.
The Clio got a better start, as my car just span all through 1st gear, then part way through 2nd, the back end squirmed like a bitch, but once I had traction I caught the clio up easily and passed him. My time was 17.072 at 85.02mph
My 2nd run was later on and the weather had dried quite a bit, I was also in the other lane this time. I did a very nice burnout on the start line, just for entertainment :D and snaked up to the lights. Same again, 3.5k and then slipped the clutch out, this time no major wheel spin, the car just went. I chirped the tires changing to 2nd, then again changing to 3rd.... I could feel this was a better run. I got 16.293 at 75.66mph
I'm pleased with that, my car is standard engine wise and it was my first time at a drag strip. My mates Sierra Cosworth did 13 second run against a TVR Tuscan and beat it :D The Cosworth is putting out 350bhp+ with 4wd
Quickest run of the day, was a Nitrous Motorbike, 139mph across the line :D
