hey everyone,

i'm new to the boards, and just this past year i started to work on my car. i have a 1995 318is, when i got the car i wasn't keen on performance... but now i know.

could you please let me know what's the best means of getting more power and umph out of my car. i saw a member on this board with a turbo for his 318, do you mind sharing some details? such as price and specs? or if there are kits available?

i know the best means would be to swap out the motor... but are there any "low-budget" tricks that i can do for now?

i live in tampa, florida... so if there's anyone nearby that could help me out i'd greatly appreciate it! thanks! :)

i attached a picture of my car below...

Welcome aboard*wave*

Nice ride... are those 19"s? They must be cause your fenderes are huge:eek:

If your looking to get more power out of your 318 you can do the basics... like intake/exhaust, Chip, Throttle body and maybe some mild cams
But if your wallet is alittle more generous your best bet is to SUPERCHARGE that puppy. I think Dowing Atlanta makes a kit for the 318. A member on our board had one... Daydream M3 Pm him for details.

I wanted to do the same thing with my 3.18 but I wanted a newer car (and more power obviously) So I just bought an M3.

Anyways good luck with your HP increase Mod(s) and enjoy your stay @ MAx*wiggle*

i agree, i'm guessing to make it black cause the colour of the car is dark and you don't want to over load the car with too much green

If you can supercharge it, go for it....i drove autotechnica's E36..and i pushed it..and my bro's E30 325 stock was faster!!!!! first gear was nice, 2nd gear and on sucked ass i couldnt stand it...i couldnt even chirp gears going from 1-2!!

bryan has lots of things, exhaust, intake., bored out t/b, chip, and some other stuff that only adds max 10hp..its BS..

If you want more torque and HP.,.get a 6cyl motor swap like the M50 because u have OBD1...its a lot easier...any M50B25/M50TUB25 (first one is non vanos 325i motor 1992, and the other is 93-95 vanos 325 motor) or M50B30 (3.0L M3 motor with vanos) because they drop right in, along with the swap you should upgrade your brakes and get a lowering kit or coilovers made for a 325 so it supports the weight..and your good to go! you'd also need the tranny, and exhaust and while doing this u can add the intake, pulleys, whatever you want..you should be able to pick up the 325 motor for about 1000-1500USD

Welcome to max*wave* I'd also go for the supercharger.

Nitrous! It's cheap, and pretty easy to install.
When you get tired of it, or blow the engine (knock on wood that it doesn't happen), then you can think about doing an engine swap.
I wouldn't bother upgrading the 318's internals a whole lot unless you plan on keeping the engine in the long run.
