Fan switch problem E30

Hi all, I have a fan switch problem ( I think ) in my E30, the fan doesn't work from 1 to 3, but 4 is working!!! Anyone know how to fix that, if so, how much? ( do it myself) or let somebody to do it. Thanks in advance.

i had the same probem.....check the fuses or it can be your fan resistor...

THanks, but where the resistor is located?

its in your engine compartment on the firewall behind the blower ...im pretty sure its there..*th-up*

yeah remove the firewall cover and you'll see the blower. The two resistors are below it. Take out the selector as well and test it to see if it works.
