I am trying to get a after market Car alarm for my 1991 318is. I was at a dealer today and asked about the factory alarm and they quoted me frekin' $600 !!!!!!!!!! CRAZY
Anyways, what kind of car alarm should I get?? Any brand suggestion? I also want something with autostarter...but is this safe on Manual Trans??
Does any one know where I can get good deal and good installation? someone who knows about double locks and stuff...
Thanks.

The autostarter can be used i believe but you just need to make sure the car is never left in gear :)
As for the factory alarms, they're pure shit. I can leave my sunroof open and hop on in without it going off.. maybe i just need to adjust the sensitivity on it ;)

i have an autopage, works well, and also can be upgraded to a pager alarm for a 150bucks or so, the range is great, and sensitivity can be adjusted...
cost me about 200 even for it.

Nice system*th-up*. That's what i'm getting aswell. Most alarms are now made by the same company, doesn't really make a difference what you buy... it's the quality of the install that always makes the diff between a nightmare and total comfort for your baby. Don't just take it to anyone, go to an authorized dealer where they warranty the install.
