Thanks for the heads up.
Looks like I just missed the cutoff with a coupe build date of Jan, 2002. I wouldn't be surprised if I'd be included though.
Also, I wonder if they'll will recall in Canada? It wouldn't be the first time they screwed us with recalls.

Looks like this has been extended to E46's 2000-2006
I guess it time to bring her in to the dealer

As per transport canada:

Road Safety Recalls Database
Transport Canada Recall # 2014299
Recall Date 2014/07/16
Notification Type Safety Mfr
System Airbag
Manufacturer Recall Number
Units Affected The number of vehicles or components affected by the recall. 40,915
Category Car
Recall Details
On certain vehicles, the passenger (frontal) airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment during a crash where deployment is warranted, increasing the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger airbag. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2013148.

I got my notice yesterday and my appointment is for December 3rd. Turns out there's two other recalls against the car. So getting 3 done on the same day.

I received a call from the dealer the night before to confirm my appointment which was scheduled for November 12, 2014 to replace the airbag in my car.
I showed up for my appointment only to be told that they non in stock. I was pissed, I had to re-arrange my work schedule to make this appointment.
The manager appologized and told me he would contact me when they are back in stock.
If anybody has an appointment, call the dealer before you go.

I got the same call this week. Cancelling my December appointment. I think it's worse for the people who had the appointment right at the time that yet found they have no inventory.

i keep the letter in my car, so when i'm driving my friends around I show them the letter and they all freak out if they are in the passenger seat. I'm like "if that airbag goes off theres a slim chance you can get decapitated"

Lol, well at least they know what could possibly happen if you decide to crash the car.

I received the letter but it basically said they are recalling for the passenger side airbag that fires shrapnel into the cabin in the event of an accident if you have a passenger during an accident. They also mentioned they do not have any inventory to replace these malfunctioning units and to wait for another letter in the mail when they are prepared to take appointments for the fix.
