For "member" rates, you must be a member of the The BMW Club of Canada, affiliate BMWCCA chapters or CASC Clubs. Membership fees are $62.15 (HST included).
If you've never participated before and would like to try it out for the first time you may do so as a guest for $50.00 as a one time allowance.

We will have morning breakfast & Tim Horton's available for purchase at the event (local chip-wagon setting up). The same source will have lunch available... bring extra cash.

Register early and get your car ready. Be part of the track walk. This is the most important part to learn the course!
Late comers will have to get rides with other participants to learn the course. If you miss the track walk, and you may also miss out on your first practice run!

Helmets are always mandatory. A recommendation of Snell 2000 or SA2000 or better is preferable.
Some loaner helmets will be available for rent, but this is on a first come, first serve basis. Helmet rentals are free with driver's license loan-exchanged.
If you plan on competing towards the autoslalom finals & competition trophy (awarded at the Christmas Dinner)
we have decided to take your best results from 6 of 8 events (keep in mind Winter Go-Karting results also count for the later).

EDIT CONVERTIBLES:
Convertibles (with factory, or aftermarket roll-over protection) can participate in the Autoslalom, AND the open lapping. If your convertible has NO roll-over protection what-so-ever, it is not allowed to participate. I don't make the rules, the Insurance underwriter does. Sorry

Registration for 2013 season can be done electronically via our website once it's operational. You can pay by PayPal.
Memberships are also being done electronically and that feature is already up and running.
As usual with both facilities, washrooms will always be open for usage all day long. You can buy lunch from a chip wagon on site (bring some extra cash).

First-Timers:
You must be a member to be able to attend our Autoslalom events. If attending your first event for the season,
complete, please note that all observers, helpers, and passengers must complete a waiver.
Parents or guardians need to submit waivers for children.
Please keep check back to see updates as some of this information is subject to change!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at Randy.Sparre@gmail.com

Thanks in advance,

Randy Sparre
Autoslalom Chair

P.S. Volunteers needed!
Anyone that can help out with Autoslalom please e-mail me.
You will automatically be qualified for our new rewards program (build up enough volunteer hours and you can get a free Mosport school!)
We need your help to keep these events alive.

P.P.S This event will (officially) no longer be called "Autocross", rather "Autoslalom"

No tech inspection. If your car falls apart during a run, it's all on you. Try and make sure everything is in-tact and safe, we don't want drama!

Are convertibles still not allowed to do the open lapping. Got caught out on that one last year. Zipping along on the track then black flag of doom was shown to me. Thought I should mention this so no one is surprised like I was.

Yes, thank you for reminding me. I'm editing the OP for this exception. Convertibles (with factory, or no roll-over protection) can participate in the Autoslalom, but not the open lapping. If your convertible has a full (aftermarket) roll cage installed, then it's ok. I don't make the rules, the Insurance underwriter does. Sorry.

Do we need to pre-register for autoslalom? I'm hoping to make it (just autoslalom, not lapping) but I don't know yet for sure if I can.

EMPOWERD

There is no-preregistration for this event. Arrive, pay and drive. We are not restricting the amount of racers for autoslalom, so no worries about being turned away. Lapping on the other-hand has a restriction of 50 total (2 sessions, 25 cars each).

Clarification on insurance regs and convertibles. All convertibles with FACTORY installed roll protection ARE allowed this year for both autoslalom and lapping. If you DON'T have any roll protection, you are NOT allowed. This is a drastic departure from years' past. If you have any questions please email me john_venditti@hotmail.com

In the same vein as how verts can do autoslalom without a cage but not lapping, the rules are sort of confusing because I remember that shorts were allowed for autoslalom, but not for lapping last year.

EMPOWERD
05-23-2013, 03:14 PM
Verts can do both (since edited) as long as they have some sort of roll-over protection (factory or aftermarket).

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, you can register for lapping after the autoslalom, but remember we only have space for 50 lappers total (2 run groups of 25 cars each)... these might all by filled up with morning registrants.

Bullet Ride

Only complaint really for the day was the lack of communication between timing and the drivers when it came to redos. My 5th and final run wasn't recorded, I was one of the last cars to go, and by the time I came to check my time the pylons were already being picked up. I know we were hurrying to finish so we could get lapping going, but I'm not sure why they'd say all runs are finished if cars are coming into the stop box and you're not writing a time down.

Yes a steller day thanks guys for another amazing event. Even though my Roll bars popped up and the cherck engine light came on during the last lapping session after a shunt off track it was worth it. On the up note the wife doesn't want me to use the nice car on the track so now I'm hunting for a track/winter car. Budget of $2000 just incase anyone knows of one for sale. Prefer a E30 or E36 but not picky.
Again thanks everyone.

Nice driving. You'd be so much faster with proper track tires instead of eco tires.. lol

Is your Civic turbo'd? There's quite a loud whoosh when you lift off the throttle.

70cruiser

Thanks! I would love to do a set of better tires, these ones certainly have easy to find limits (ended up facing backwards once... ;)).

No my Civic isn't turbocharged, or any engine modifications at all. The intake tube for the car is flipped over and is roughly behind where the camera was mounted.
