Im sure u can get it done at any of the sponsors : RMP,Bimmersport etc
For bushings:
Parts + labour around $250+tax

I guess it depends on what kind of ride u r looking for:
Oem - most comfy (think its cos its oil filled)
Meyle HD - more feedback, less comfy, last longer
Polyurethane - most feedback, least comfy (not really recomended for street)

I think u can get the Meyles for $80 and can always DIY, although if not installed correctly they can wear prematurely

Control arms will me more expensive - u could probably get a kit from the US

I just ordered Meyle control arms and bushings kit from Bav Auto.

31 12 1KIT - "Front Suspension Upgrade Kit - Includes Meyle HD Control Arms and HD Control Arm Bushings" - $379.95

It’s relatively easy DIY.

Buy the parts yourself and bring them to RMP Motors.

For control arms , buy ZHP arms if you can get a good deal on them, otherwise Myele.

For bushes , just get Myele bushes.

+1 on RMP... always had good stuff done there. He did my arms for about $300 (non meyle).

As for the meyle stuff, I think you need to reflect on whether you're willing to spend the extra money on your vehicle. My CABs died at about 180000kms, and I plan on getting rid of this car in the near future, so I went with simple OEM. ZHP is good way to go too, but I'm not sure if it'll be funny having a ZHP on one side and non-ZHP on the other.

My two cents.

Good question. I may be wrong but I do not think there is a difference. There MAY be a difference when you compare sport/nonsport to ZHP package vehicles. So yeah... I donno...

As I know, the different between Sport and Basic models is the suspension.
Sport comes with Bilstein struts and shock.

Where in the world did you get this info?? Sachs/boge is the OE supplier for E46 platform, non sport and sport. Bilstein is an aftermarket company just like KONI.

Meyle HD are great products for the ball joints and bushes, highly recommend over OEM, and they can be used on sport and non sport suspensions... Shocks on the other hand, for lowered cars, you need to find use the appropriate shocks that will withstand the extra travel. Sport suspension requires sport Sachs struts if you go OE. If you want to save some $$ go with KYB GR2 which will give you same performance for stock sport springs. Anything lower then stock, you need to use KONI or Bilstein sport or HD struts to maximize the lifespan. Anything else will be a waste of $ and time.

Meyle HD is a lot cheaper ($140 each) than OEM (Lemforder), including ZHP control arms ($225 each). Has solid ball joints like ZHP and should last as long also. Don't think you'll notice the difference driving.

Meyle bushings $100 for the set a lot less than genuine BMW also, and last longer.
Some others maybe even less, but you'll be replacing again soon, so don't recommend it.

Prices are US$ ordered from states.

To DIY you need a 2 or 3 jaw puller (can borrow from CT) and preferably a notched plate.

Just keep in mind its US.. with shipping and duties, its about $200 per arm. My local parts guy charges $230/arm..

Where can you get Meyle in Canada?
I've called all around, looked up distributors on Meyle website and sent them messages with no response. Given up.
Actually shipping won't add that much, and you pay tax if buying locally too.

TopGear in London can get the Meyle HD, but like I said, $230 for one arm... as for ordering from US, add 13% of tax, exchange rate and about $40-50 in shipping... that will bring $130US to about $190-200 CAN

Yes, not saving a lot for 1 item.
Best is to combine whatever you think you need for the year into one order to save shipping. I try to do that, but often something comes up that I didn't plan on.

You still will pay 13% HST if buying here.

i ordered meyle hd control arms and bushings from ebay earlier this month

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-BMW-Meyle-HD-Control-Arm-Bushing-Kit-E46-1999-2005-4-YEAR-WARRANTY-/181101449715?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a2a7cd1f3&vxp=mtr#ht_1287wt_1042

$358 + 100 shipping and taxes in.

it came with new hardware and the bushings were already on the arms which made the install even easier.
