Where do you work? Looks like you guys do for Apple what we do for IBM...

03-31-2012, 11:55 AM
Mainly..contracted by IBM, working for the government...
responsible for the refreshes (when their systems go off lease) across Ontario from central to west all the way to windsor. We are the vendors..

So this Apple stuff has nothing to do with it

So you are buying their off lease portfolios. We should talk :-) we buy alot of that stuff (5-10million a year)

03-31-2012, 02:48 PM
the apple products are not from the govt :)

Almost nothing we get is government. Lots of corporate off lease from IBM GARS and new surplus gear.

In total, we do about $60M in just my division.

From apple refurb'ed site I see:

MacBook Air 1.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Originally released July 2011
13.3-inch (diagonal) high-resolution LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
4GB memory
128GB flash storage
Thunderbolt port with support for up to 2560-by-1600 resolution
FaceTime camera
Intel HD Graphics 3000

For 1099...is that the same as your first post for 1100? Detailed specs for yours? Does yours include taxes and shipping? I think apple refurbs has 1 year warranty.

950$ for the 11" 64 gig one

What's the specs on your model?

Apple site - 849 for the following...same questions apply on taxes and shipping.

Refurbished MacBook Air 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5

11.6-inch (diagonal) high-resolution LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
2GB memory
64GB flash storage

those are the old dual core. he is selling the new intel i5 processors

04-01-2012, 10:35 PM
^ how could you tell if it was 1st or 2nd gen i5? clearly i'm not up to snuff on the apple naming of products.

04-01-2012, 10:39 PM
^sorry my mistake, i misread something....scratch what i said

04-01-2012, 11:09 PM
I think those are right chris ..

the 11" is the 64 gig one on the site
its listed new as 999$
comes out to 1128$ with tax new.

the other one should be (13")
13-inch : 128GB
1.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
4GB memory
128GB flash storage1
Intel HD Graphics 3000

1299$ from apple plus tax = 1467$

sorry prefer to deal with local

I think what Chris is saying is that refurb from the Apple site is cheaper, unless yours has some better specs...

1241$ with tax.
