trade-in value is MUCH different than re-sale value.
By showing this, it's only going to mislead everyone who potentially wanted to buy this car, and everyone else's 1993 e36 (such as mine I have for sale) The going price for a '93 is $10,000 to $13,000 right now if you check the blue book.

The price he's asking for the car is maybe $1000 too high, but still, you get some extra goodies with the car like rims etc so it all works out. If it was stock, he could probably get a good $13,000 for it if he tried hard.

it's from the canadian black book ....

trade ins value is the lowest i guess the cheapest you can pay for the car worth ... it's like a wholesale .... when the dealer is buying your car.

i had a couple times late last year bought a car and a truck lower than the trade ins value so that i knew i was getting a really good deal because especially now used cars are overloaded in the market place because alot of new car dealership are offering all kinds of good deals ... even though if you buy a use car from them.
my friend just traded in his 1999-323i with a 740i, dealer took his 323i at black book value last year at 25000 bucks and the next week they put it for sale at 29900 bucks so they got 5000 bucks to play with. so if private sale trying to match the price that what dealer is selling they definitely trying to make money like a dealership.

Hi Guys,

Wow. All these nice replies with people jumping to conclusions, as usual.

Lets just give an explanation here, showcar is in quotes " ", why? Because it used to be, it used to have 18" wheels, a full fiberglassed install in the trunk, LCD's in the cabin, momo racing steering wheel and well...you can see the body kit, it attended some shows in the USA, since I tour with Clarion Car Audio. So yes it was a SHOW car.

Dawn, hows it going! Didnt know you used this site.

And for all of you saying its too expensive, I can assure you that it most definitly is NOT. MARKET value is different than blue book or trade in value, when is the last time you paid blue book value on a used car?

Lets take a little link to the autotrader shall we, http://search.trader.ca/Results.asp?BFROM=1&BAD=N&BPRICE=N&BTYPE=B&BCAT=1&BOREGION=-1&BYEAR1=&BYEAR2=&BPRICE1=0&BPRICE2=&BKEYWORD=&BMAKE=688&BMODEL=325IS&q1=%3D+1&c1=@category&q3=%3D+688&c3=@makeid&q4=%3D+17353&c4=@modelcode&q5=&c5=@adcopy&q6=&c6=@year&q7=%3E%3D+1&c7=@askprice&SortBy=askprice&SortOrder=a&DisplayType=pictures&DisplayRowCount=48&mknm=688&mdnm=325IS&CAT=1

If you click the link above you will see all the 325is for sale, the average price for a 1993 325is with similar KM is $13,000-$14,000. So lets say the body kit, which features a REAL Kerscher front bumper (not the fake stuff I see on a lot of cars here in the forum), new paint, new cd player, new subwoofer and amplifier, its lowered, and has a CAI. Will I ever get the cost of these mods back? NO! But adding an extra $900 or so onto the price of the car aint bad for $3000 in modifications.

So next time you crazy kids go shooting your mouth off about my overpriced car, please keep it to yourself, unless YOU KNOW the market.

Thanks,

Have a great day!

Shawn

Guys, for that mielage, that is a decent price. It isnt far fetched by any means. I think that its a little too high, but if the car is in good condition, then that is a good price. The year is old, but the mielage is very low for a 10 year old car. That is about 14000 km/year, which is babied. If it is in good condition, then I can see someone buying it for that price.

You will never in your life get 14,900 for that car, unless you find some dumbass with lots of money that does not know shit about cars. When modding a car for most people occurs, they know there not going to get their money back and for a 1993. I don't konw but reconsider your pricing or the offer will be up for a long.................... time.....................

To DaBimmer with the 318, WTF are you thinking? I gave a link to market prices for that car, the price is average, what am I missing?

That intake doesn't fit a 318, you need the MAF adaptor as you are probably aware of........
This is a 6cyl intake system.....

Well there is no reason for everyone to say its overpriced, in my opinion. I dont think its a show car either, BUT that is still a good price. Many people would pay extra for a car that is very well maintained, I know I would.
