A million thread searches for this - Carcone's is the best!

MODS should create a sticky of ones - and leave open for feedback perhaps?

Really? they did a good job on all the rims my shop sends out to them, and did you see Precisions shop, some SERIOUS machinery in there.

Agreed - just like a body shop with painters. They may have great equipment but if the painter sucks so will the paint job.

Yes, I've been to their shop, albeit three or four years ago. I had several wheels redone there in 2008 and 2009. They can certainly do good work but the way they conduct business is highly unprofessional. I don't think such practices should be rewarded.

Of the three wheels I had refinished there, one was excellent, one mediocre and one laughably bad. It took them FOREVER to do the jobs. It's been years so I don't remember exact dates but in one case, they quoted a two week turnaround time. They ended up taking eight weeks to do the job, and the 'finished' wheel was anything but satisfactory. I would have been embarrassed to deliver such crappy work to a paying customer.

Other issues:

Poor communication - No ability to return phone calls. They consistently underestimated the time it would take to finish.
Arbitrary pricing - The prices I was quoted varied depending on who I was talking to.
No willingness to make it right - They couldn't have cared less that I was unhappy with their work.

Basically, I get the feeling that this half a business. You've got one or two guys who are very good at what they do, perhaps a few apprentices and absolutely zero understanding of how to run a business in the 21st Century. They're just too inconsistent to rely on.

^My experience sounds imilar to yours, if not much worse.

SEARCH! This thread pops up at least once a week and has been beaten to death. Mods really should make it a Sticky.

Precision Auto Body doesn't care about refinishing rims, they only care about insurance claims....

Never got a good vibe from them.
