I have to replace the front CAB's on my e30 - considering if I should go with offset ones (M3 style).
So, basically I'm doing a whole overhaul on the car, new motor and all. It'll be used mostly for street driving when I'm done, maybe a few track and autoX days here and there.
I'm just wondering if the extra caster added will hurt my everyday driving and sharp autoX turning.
Also, putting offsets into the lollipops would be a little more work (I'd want to put in some set screws to hold them).

I'm likely going with the 75d CAB's from AKG - so opinions on these are welcome.
Also, on the rear I'm going with the AKG 80A subframe and diff bushings that raise the rear subframe 9mm... Any experience for anyone here?

The extra caster won't make a big difference, it's not as dramatic of a mod as everyone says it is. Just a firmer bushing.

If you do go with the AKG bushing definitely put a set screw because they aren't that tight of a fit (you can tap them in with a hammer). I didn't and mine rotated fairly quickly. Had to take them off and re-orient them and put a set screw.

For mostly street driving, OEM E30 M3 or 95 M3 offset rubber bushings are the cats ass.

Mods sticky this thing - I asked this exact question 2 weeks ago except for an e36, pretty much got the same answer though.

Ok thanks. Talked to some local guys too
I guess I'm gonna go with OEM... maybe M3, not sure yet

I speak from experience. The difference wasn't dramatic but definitely a great mod I noticed. The car had quicker turn in but you need to get used to unwinding the wheel after a slow speed turn.

Contrary to what the above poster says its amazing what just a degree of difference can do to a suspension.

Go with the m3 offset then when you go for alignment get e30 m3 toe setting

I put M3 offset CAB's in my e30 vert.

feel absolutely no difference...unless you track it, do it up.
otherwise, it's simply asking for a placebo mod and premature tire wear.

Get the m3 ones... waaaay stronger/better feel.

I couldn't imagine putting the stock bushings back in imo, too much empty space and not enough rubber/poly for me.

No premature tire wear with a proper alignment.

Also, if you don't want offset, but still want solid OEM rubber, go with 96-99m3 CABs. They are solid rubber and centered, as 96-99m3's had their caster modified through different geometry control arms.
