Nice. Someone posted a thread in the Looking For section (I think) not too long ago looking for one of these, if you didn't see it...

11-30-2011, 06:41 PM
Thanks! I think I saw that, but he wanted any colour but silver....

lol when you're looking for a manual 325iT, I don't think you can be too picky...

12-02-2011, 01:10 PM
:) True that.

And, no, I won't take a $6000 offer seriously from someone who hasn't even looked at the car. (you know who you are...)

The good news is it is not silver, it's more of a charcoal which is nicer and rarer.

I should know I have a 2002 325iT manual, silver and they all seem to be titanium silver!

Bump to the op for a sweet ride

if this was an xi i would be all over this

You don't want an AWD wagon, half the fun of the wagon is the loose rear end with the RWD.

:) Thanks! The car truly is a pleasure to drive, and we're definitely going to miss it!

I agree, I have a rwd touring, the 325 is just a better car rwd, the IX is old tech and is 2-3 inches higher off the ground.

Not to mention maintenance and the cost of a transfer case if it dies.

My touring is amazing in the snow, wagons have more weight behind the rear wheels then a sedan, balance is the same just farther back.

Great winter cars!

Best of luck with sale !

Off topic question...that red "project" in the corner at the back..what is it ? :)

It's an MR2 - not mine, unfortunately: it's quite a blast to drive. It's owned by a friend and we hope to put a Redtop BEAMS engine in it over the winter.

12-21-2011, 12:02 PM
BEAMS as in NA? Cool, I take it the MR2 is 3SGTE turbo judging by the wing.

BTW, wagon looks nice kinda half-looking for a wagon right now if the S4 Avant I was looking at is unavailable.

Thanks! Yup - NA beams, about 200hp at some high rpms. If it was a turbo, we would've stayed with that, but it was a 5sfe that failed prematurely.

Let me know if you want to look at the car some time: I'll be home all of next week.

Oh hell ya, that motor will be super fun in that MR car. I drove a IS200 w/ BEAMS in Japan with like 250whp, barrel 'o' fun.

I'll let ya know, got a few cars to look at.

I've been offered $8500 as is. What say you Max members? Is that as low as it seems to me, or have values dropped on these that much in the past year? Just a bad time of year to sell? (I'm in no hurry, if waiting until spring is better then so be it).

12-23-2011, 07:39 PM
Seems low to me but it is only worth what someone will pay....

That said this is the worst time of year to sell. I would wait, I would not sell mine for that price. In the least drive it until spring and if you get the same price you drive the wagon for a few more months for free :)

12-23-2011, 07:41 PM
Fair enough - that matches my thoughts. If that's what the market will bear...
We'll see if he comes through, if not then I'll hold it until tax season - for some reason people are free-er with their money then. ;)

Deposit received - SOLD!
I'm going to miss it....

12-27-2011, 04:46 PM
Wow! I guess the whole manual tranny thing just doesn't bring a higher price.

I was thinking of selling my wife's touring this spring when I get her an E91 but if that is all they are getting I will keep it for myself and sell my e39....

I am sure your e36 M3 will still be enjoyed on the weekends!

It's a bad time of year - I probably could've held out for another $500 or $1000, maybe if it was safetied and e-tested...but a bird in hand... :) The buyer preferred to save a bit buying it as is, and it saved me some time.

They really are fantastic cars, and it took me a looong time to find this one.
