well ive been shopping for a winter car not really looking at bmws but i stubled accross a nice 1990 325i coupe for $500. The guy was a very helpful older gentleman that has owned bmws all his life. The car is showing signs of age but for the year price it was to be expected. Its an auto unfortunately (wife wouldn't let me get a manual*thmbsdwn*) its got 250,000 on the motor which runs great passed etest with flying coulors this past spring. Will need a bit of paint reapir as the surface rust is getting bad, but there is no major rot. will need 1 fender and a hood latch cable but it has been undersprayed so the rockers are solid as well as lifts point/floors, strut towers and trunk/battery tray are all good. Conveniently my bother has enough white paint left over from a previous project to re paint the entire car so will look nice and fresh before winter hits (dont want rust spreading nemore) interior is in good shape minus the destroyed drivers seat cushion. after pre safety will only need fender and brakes to pass *th-up*

So my original plan was to just get a winter beater and drive it but i have fallen in love with this car so maybe it will see some more attention in spring;) anyways let me know what you guys think and go easy on her
will post more pics when i get her cleaned up

Everything will one day be your parts car.

Good score with the car. 2door, white, plastic bumpahz, sun roof? WIN. Time to grow a pair and choose your own transmissions though.

thanks for the kind words*th-up* i realize shes not perfect but im very inspired by it right now. So many possibilities. there are so many sweet e30 builds out there with so many different setups. However i dont want to swap any non bmw engines as thats the reason i bought this car was for the solid I6 bmw built its reputation on. Nothing against the guys swapping srt20 or anythings else very cool and a koodos to them but not my cup of tea. I definately see a swap in its future but there are so many m52s m50's etc i want something a little more uniquie. I have a connection to a high end auto salvager who just happens to currently have 3 s54's complete with trannys and computers (2 6speed and 1 smg) so that is something im strongly considering. but still investigating what kinda engine management people are running on this kinda setup (as i dont want to waste anytime with factory dme wiring) and any problem areas involved with this swap.

Any ideas are appreciated, still very easily influenced right now not sure which direction i want to take it (leaning towards n/a though)

Hey congrats on the buy! And good that youre so excited about the possibilities good to see.

I personally favor NA builds, and ya the m/s5x has been done again and again but it's also cost effective and "just right" power IMO

With that said you can put anything in an e30 lol

i realize shes not perfect but im very inspired by her right now.

Well, if she keeps telling you what trannys you can and can't get dirty with, you may feel different
