View Full Version : Oil Service Indicator
So I just got an Oil Service light on my dash (for the first time) and I'm looking for a way to get rid of it. I change my own oil, that's not a problem, but obviously it's not going to make the light go away. How can I easily get rid of this, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

There is a tool that plugs in the diagnostic port in the engine bay and can reset it. So buy the tool, borrow the tool, go to a shop that works on old bmws. If they try to charge you anything more than a few bucks then go elsewhere, it takes 2 minutes.

jumper #7 and ground turn on ignition but do not start car, wait 3-5 secs and the lights will be reset.

Find a piece of wire on the floor and do this: (much cheaper than the stupid tool)
