Hi guys, I have decided to sell my car. It is probably one of the cleanest if not the cleanest E34s in town. I have tried to keep the mods very tasteful. It certainly gets a lot of compliments.
The car is, or should I say was a 1995 525i with a 5 speed trans. The car was very clean when I bought it but it had some mechanical issues like power windows and locks weren't working. Suspension was worn out, brakes ect.
Besides the mods to the car, I have replaced a ton of parts on the car. It would take way too long to start listing all the parts that have been replaced but once you drive the car, you can get an idea with how smooth and nice the car drives and feels.
I'm asking $10000 for the car though I am open to reasonable offers.
Here is a short list of some of the work.

Engine

Rebuilt M52B28
Mildly ported head
S52 cams
OBD2 headers

Interior

M5 Black interior swap
Wood trim pieces painted black

Suspension

Ground control coilovers
Spring rates 430 Front, 300 Rear
Koni adjustable shocks
Front and rear camber plates
Custom front strut bar
Rack and pinion conversion
M5 upper control arm bushings

Transmission

New clutch
B&M short throw shifter

Body

Painted in April
New door mouldings
New door Mtec trim pieces
New windshield

Lights

Smoked head light, corner lamps and tail lights
6000k HID low beams
8000K HID fogs

As I mentioned, most of the parts on the list above are mods, I can provide a full list of the parts for anybody who is seriously interested. I am selling the car certified and etested.

What really transformed my car was the rack and pinion swap. It makes the car feel so nimble, along with the rest of the suspension mods, it makes the car feel like an E30.

The only reason I want to sell the car is, well... I'll let the picture speak for itself.

Hahaha, I knew I was gonna piss somebody off but don't let the picture fool you. I haven't gotten started on the Z yet. Unfortunately I can't keep both cars but I will be honest I want to keep the Z *angel*.

The only reason I don't want to part out with the wheels is because if I end up keeping the E34, I would have a hard time finding another set of wheels like those. But not to worry, there is three person waiting list for the wheels and you are the first one on the list.*th-up*

So rack and pinion swap and coilovers made it handle better? What e34s came with rack and pinion?..

None. From what i know, I'm only the second person who has done this swap.

I know Ray Korman did that to his track E34. Did you have a local shop do it? Details please!

On a side note...what is it with all these awesome cars lately? Damn wedding. Wish I could.

I did the swap myself. The rack itself is off of a VW with modified inner tie rods. E30 power steering pump, modified low pressure line and custom high pressure line.
It is IMO the best mod on the car so far. E34s have a boat like feel to them with the box, and this swap completely changes how the car feels.

I hate e34 steering boxes. They wear out and get sloppy and nasty.. a rack and pinion swap sounds amazing.

Rust issues anywhere?

None. there was some surface rust on the truck lid, that was taken care of before the paint work.

Damn. If this was later in the summer, just a *little bit* I'd be seriously considering this. My lease is up in October and I think I'd rather find a minty E34 and pay to have it highly maintained, rather than do the work myself or lease another car.

How many kms?

400000 but literally every part has been checked through and most parts have been replaced. If you are interested, I can give you a list of all the parts that have been replaced.

Wife's too smart for that.

The motor is only one portion of the car, unfortunately. Can you post up some pics of the underbody front / rear, engine bay etc?

Rust is the main issue. Rust has killed every car that I've ever had that died while in my possession.

The car was painted in April and the reason for the paint was to remove any rust, even though there wasn't any major rust, and refresh the paint. I will PM you pictures and a detailed list of all the new parts.

That's a tough one, I wouldn't have cared to sell them now since the car is parked for the winter anyways but Ground Control discontinued them so I wouldn't be able to get another set when the car is ready to come on the road again.

They are a lot more pricey and have a long delivery, but there's always the KW kits

I'm not so sure they are discontinued. I got mine last spring even though they were listed as sold out on their site. You have to call them. For some reason they don't give you the option of buying the parts and shortening your own housings anymore - they will only do it as a complete kit where you send them your cores, so it's more of a special order thing but I'm pretty sure you can still get them...

Apparently Stance Factory sells a BC racing kit for E34 as well...
