$17,900 Canadian Dollars buys it.

This car is well above average condition with only 147,000 kms and fresh paint restoration - stripped and repainted professionally by BMW dealer including stock wheels. The car is all stock except AC Schnitzer exhaust and Monte Carlo bar.

I bought the car myself in Germany in 2007, drove it while I lived there for 3 years, then imported it with me back to Canada in 2010. I have all the paperwork for the car including the German Fahrzeugbrief (certificate of Title) which details all of the car's owners since new - I am the fifth. The car now has Canadian Prov of Ontario ownership and all the importation paperwork. The paperwork will go with the car including a recent appraisal certifying the car's value for insurance. I also have several pictures of the strip and repaint that was done in Winter/Spring 2010 proving no damages. It was appraised at $18,500 Canadian dollars last Fall.

The car is in Kingston ON CANADA .

The buyer of this rare BMW M3 e36 sedan will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I drove this car almost daily for three years (except winter). This car is exhilarating to drive!

It's on ebay and Kijiji at the moment.

Was this winter driven before you bought it in Germany?

C'mon Queen's! ;)

Nice car.

How come the centre console has the coupe window controls? (i.e. only 2 controls).

Missed the window cranks in the last pic. Must be a Europe-only feature.

The owner I bought it from in Germany in 2007 was not winter driving it. Before that, I'm not sure but the area (Dusseldorf) it came from typically did not get snow, hence no salt.

I had it for sale in the Fall, stopped advertising and garaged it all Winter, then just started advertising last Friday.

I need a buyer that appreciates the rarity and condition of the car and the appraised value.

Beautiful car! It's been up for sale for a long time, because it is over priced. Not bashing the seller. It would be cheaper to import one from europe.

At this price it would have to be a serious car collector to purchase it. But then again a serious collector would have his reservations due to the mileage.

But it is a nice car.

I don't think you can get one cheaper if you imported it yourself from Europe, especially in this condition with the low km's. Don't forget you need to add a MIN of $3.5k
to whatever price you pay in Europe to bring it here.

I would love for you to prove me wrong though, because my search of mobile.de and autoscout24.de doesn't show me a comparable car for under
10k Euros (which it would need to be to make it the same price as this car all said and done).

That being said the market for cars such as these is extremely limited in Canada.

MAREK's hit the nail on the head. I too watch mobile.de and autscout24.de and the car is priced according to the prices in Europe and considering the costs to ship and import it. I know the buyer list is not too long here in Canada but if it does not sell, I guess I get to keep an awesome rare car *wave*

I still believe it's overpriced and I'm sure others agree but no one will speak up, otherwise it would have been gone long time ago. Never the less it's a gorgeous car. Good Luck with the sale hope it goes to a good home.

Didn't Randy's dad have a eurospec in the same colour? I'm pretty sure there were 45 eurospecs in 1994 sold in Canada. I know because I breifly owned one for 3 months.

those were coupes, this one is a sedan, I believe E36 M3 sedans didn't come out till 97 in NA, I could be wrong.

Agreed with WlodeK84. It is a nice E36 M3, but it is overpriced by a fair margin. Considering the mileage and the fact that it was repainted too.

A true collector will also want a complete stock car (AC Schnitzer exhaust and Monte Carlo bar are mods -- albeit minor).

Iím kind of astounded anyone would call this car seriously overpriced or high mileage. This thing is the same price as a Honda Fit!

Iíve been looking for an M3 for several months and itís really difficult to find a car with history and reasonable mileage, but without oversized rims, ebay lights and body kits, teenage owners, FI, automatic, salvage, winter driven etc. etc.. If you want one of the blue, violets, white or Dakars, you just made another 2x harder to find one. Unless you're at the right spot at the right time you'll have to pay more for a good car with history.

This car has none of these issues, evidence the paint was done properly (not to hide rust or crash damage). Iíve been combing every corner of the internet for good M3s located in the US or Canada, and this car is one of 3 OEM Euro sedans and 3 Coupes Iíve seen for sale in the last 6 months. His price is the lowest of the 4 Euros that were located in Eastern Canada.

I corresponded with him a few times over the winter, and he seemed like a good enthusiast owner who went to the trouble of bringing his baby to Canada after owning it in Europe not to just flip and resell. Even if you could save several thousand (you canít) by finding one to import from Europe which car can you vet more easily? This one in Canada you can go drive and take to a dealer or do you want to figure out how to find, PPI and ship one back from Europe? I was considering ignoring my budget to get this car due to the rarity of Euro Sedans but Daytona is a love it or hate it and Iím in the latter camp.

The colour is what really limits its market. Ask me how I know :(
People who think its overpriced are comparing them to 200k+ km NA market cars, and have no clue what it takes to import one and how much it will end up costing, even if you do it all yourself without using a broker.

I agree, it is definitely the colour.
Reminds me of my Range Rover Borrego edition. It was yellow with black and yellow stitching interior. I paid a PREMIUM and sold at a huge LOSS because everyone but very few, found the colour to their liking.

A yellow RR sounds cool to me although I love the yellow D90 so I'm probably not the most impartial person.

On that note, I like the Daytona Violet colour since it's not something you see very often.

Just wanted to revisit this old thread to introduce myself as the new owner of this beautiful M3!

I am going to be going through the car and when I am done with it, it will be almost as new........ here is what is planned:

OEM BMW Parts ordered are:

Driver seat cover, backrest cover & headrest (surprisingly theOEM leather is still available)
ZKW Headlights
ZKW Foglights
S50B32 Intake trumpets, hoses and clamps
Bumper Moulding - RECEIVED
Mulberry M3 carpeted mat set - RECEIVED
Suspension Bushings ("Every" mount and bushing on the suspension of the car)
Rear diff mounts
Transmission mounts
Engine Mounts
Front control arms
Accessory & AC belts, and tensioners/rollers
Drive shaft flex disc
Rear muffler

Aftermarket parts ordered are:
H&H VANOS and DME Chips - RECEIVED

My goal is to have an E36 that feels tight, and looks as good as it can. I eventually intend to have a collection of M3's right from E30 to E90....... I already have the E90........ here is a link to check it out if you like! http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=412979 Even though the E90 is slightly modified, I meticulously boxed and stored all the original parts as I removed them so I can put it completely stock in the event I ever want to.

Once I build my new home and get a nice big garage to keep them all in, I will be looking for an E30 M3 and an E46 M3, and, depending on how it ends up turning out, an F80 M3

I will be posting new photos of the E36 when it is all finished!!!
