Not many people here drive E90's - most own E30 and E36 cars so yes it's the wrong place to advertise. Try E90post, you may have better luck there. Or try kijiji and autotrader.

I have advertized in those places, i just thought i should post an ad on the forum that i am most involved in. cause hey , you never know. right!

I posted an ad with the same car in December for 24000
I got bashed so bad for such asking price, people suggested in should ask for 22000
Though my car had 80k km.. It still has warranty until next year
I think we could only get around 20000 for this car now

My friend sold his 07 323i with 58000k for $18000 which is 3000less than the initial price he was asking. He had so many offers like 15000, 16000 and he also tried dealers and they wouldnt wanna buy his car for anything higher because there are so many used e90s out there for sale

Used car market is crappy right now, plus the car isn't worth 24.5k (not hating).

The car is worth as much as one wants to pay..

at $24.5; (dealer's listing price, some at $22ish))...no harm in listing at that price
...are you motivated to sell fast? if not.. just wait...

Wait for the price to go even lower?

^ Exactly, another down side of waiting is, how long are you really wanting to wait? prices always go down and assuming he drives it the KM keep going up so the asking price will just keep dropping. A smart thing to do is price it according to the market, that's all you can do really, expecially in this market.

I was talking to an importer this morning and he said some 2008 335's are available from the USA for 23 - 24K. So unless this 2006 330i comes with a hookah in the trunk and and 5 years worth of supplies, it seems high. Where was it serviced?

mario09
04-07-2011, 08:09 PM
lol i can provide a hooka with the vehicle, no problem.

but yeah you guys are right, the price is on the high scale but that also gives the room to negotiate it down. i am a motivated seller so i am open to offers as long as its reasonable.

The problem with pricing it too high, is that buyers, like me, immediately close the window for the ad and forget about the car if the seller is out to lunch on pricing. I actually laughed when I saw the price, and said to myself "good luck".

And I'm not trying to be rude at all, I can fully understand where you are coming from. It's your baby, and you can't imagine giving it up for less. But when the price is way too high, as it is, I wouldn't even bother contacting the seller because I know he's just going to view me as "a lowerballer" if I suggest to pay what the car is actually worth.

I've been heavily involved in looking for an '07 335i, but would also consider an '06 330i if the price was right. Fact is, that '07 335's (which are SO much more car) are going in the $20-$24K range.

Also, as a private seller, the tax advantage a purchaser used to have, has now disappeared, as private sales are also now taxed at 13%, and there is no warranty. Therefore, you basically have to be at or below Wholesale value to be competitive (plus you also can't offer financing like a dealer can)

Hopefully this helps. I think the other posters comment that you should realistically be looking at get around $18K is accurate.

You already have one. I'm assuming you don't beleive those low prices. They are basically correct.

Great, but my sister is about to sink 20 into a mini right now, she might as well just get an e90 for 12 and save 8 grand.

BTW...what are you basing this pricing on anyway?

Extra $495 for cert. What about E-test? Is there an admin fee??? Taxes?

This car is "as is" - Bald tires? Brakes? What else needs to be fixed? Are we up to the 17k-18k yet? Assuming the guy won't budge and you get it certified through them (with no repairs required) with tax its you're looking at what...$17,500? Not to mention its 6spd...many people pay more for an auto...

This is wholesale. Can anyone get cars wholesale??? Last time I checked you needed a dealers license no? I could be wrong...my bro does work for a dealership though...

Average people don't want to go through the B.S of buying are car this way...not to mention people buying BMW's usually aren't cheap skates looking to cut corners and such an expensive car...

Again..to the poster...hang in there...someone will bite...can't rush a sale! :)

I'm actually in the market for an e90 xi right now... But I need to sell my 3 cars first which might take some time. Your car has been the lowest mileage by far I've seen yet and with the sport package, your right in the range they're going for. I've seen non sport cars with higher mileage asking around the same price as you.

Good luck with the sale op :)

Thanks for all the support, I've been getting lots of interest but nothing serious, so dropping it down to 20,000. I think that a great deal for a car like this.
