Id call it a private sale, it's owned by two of the best bmw mechanics I know of in the niagara region, real bmw guys. While there they love to show the 2002 touring and other older bimmer's.

The M3 is a clean car man, right from florida, no rust at all and knowing them it runs like a top, youd have zero mechanical to have to do.

Looks to me like something's up with that M3. Looking at the interior, it's got a downgraded non-M early E36 steering wheel, which not only is ugly but a red flag for me. The non-vader seats suggest that it's a luxury package M3, but on the outside, it has the sport side skirts and front air dam (luxury have an extra horizontal slat in the dam, and regular E36 side skirts) Just playing devil's advocate here, don't mean to do anyone any harm.

I hear ya, curious, I figure for under $1500 I could get some nice vader's, proper wheel, think its doable. Nothing odd about the car besides those two items really, I figure the previous owner trashed the seats and wheel maybe?

I ask because the car runs incredible, no rust, sweet ride, for me personally if I was buying Id just factor the replacement of those two things into the offer, jmo. I was very tempted, gone to look at it twice now but my wife and I are preparing for a baby... The third car will not be a M3 :(

Doesn't seem to be a lux package to me. But who knows. Luxury usually have chrome door handle as well. Sometimes wood grain.

Either way, dove/grey interior makes me want to throw up :puke:

I don't think the US cars ever came with the M3 wheel we got in Canada..so that's correct for the car. and for the sideskirts, i highly doubt someone switched just those on a otherwise stock car. must have pulled the original vaders out.

Thanks for insight. So really just proper seats and go!

its the right steering wheel for a US car.

Not that this matters to me but I still think that statement is incorrect. Every pic that comes up when I search for "1996 bmw m3" comes up with the following wheel:

http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezflow_site/storage/images/features/10q3/25_years_of_the_bmw_m3_four_generations_on_the_tra ck-feature/gallery/1996_bmw_28e36_29_m3_interior_photo_12/3825839-1-eng-US/1996_bmw_e36_m3_2_cd_gallery.jpg

As far as I know, THIS is the wheel that came in pre-98 M3s. Similar shape and same slip ring as the early-E36 wheel, but thicker bolstering, thumb rests, M stitching, and slightly different but interchangeable airbag.

Anyone know how much a wheel is used somewhere?

The vad's I know, actually had some when I had my old e36 but a wheel I never looked into. What is the best looking e36 m3 wheel for that matter?

That is nowhere near what I consider to be clean car.

When I mention clean, I refer to mechanically and structure. The car has NO rust, no leaks etc, runs like a top.

Anyone can make a car " clean " with a tooth brush, to me cosmetics are secondary, I care about structure and mechanical components more than anything. Soap, wax, small dent(s) and leather cleaner is cheap...

If the car had vaders a proper wheel and had been professionaly detailed, who cares. For all you know that "clean" car has 3 oil leaks, busted springs, bad bushings and low compression.

Ill stick with mechanically clean first, jmo.

Thats a little overpriced if you ask me.... 13k for a car with 130k miles? cmon now...

Plus its a US car with an unknown history and the wrong seats....

Actually, the history is known, I wont get into it because its not my car but if you call and ask they will tell you, its all good :) Also these are bmw specific mechanics that now own it, been gone over with a fine tooth combe mechanically, superb.

Curious though, apart from factoring vaders into the price, what are these going for now?

anywhere from 5k to 20k asking prices. 20k is on bimmerforums for a car with 20k on it. I seriously doubt anyone would pay that much for one though. They are basically 10k cars. I paid 5500 for mine. It was rough though, and I will have put another 2k into it before I am done. Should have only paid 4500 for it after seeing everything that was effed up with it

I seem to see alot in the $10K-$12k range on sites like autotrader etc. Even a few here over the last year.

For much less than that they must be REAL rough bro, like rust issues etc.

Mine has no rust paid 5500 US for it. But it's no prize. It's been worked on by amateurs. For the most part it's solid but I've taken quite a bit of it apart, and it looks like someone has been there before me and not done anything right. Connectors missing, etc.

Thats cool, any pics?

I guess I really should take some. Right now the front bumper is off, and to give you an example of things missing. The electric fan is supposed to have 4 screws holding it on. Mine only has 2 screws. I plan on tracking it so I don't want bits falling off. I'll get some pics though.
