View Full Version : 3 Series 1988 325iX Touring

Hi everyone,

I haven't had this car for long and absolutely love it, but going to be moving soon and won't have room for it. I'm in Saskatoon, I could drive it probably anywhere (I like driving) or have it delivered. I'll try and get some more pictures in the next week with the winter tires/rims on (heading to fernie BC with it today).

Needs nothing, mostly stock. Timing belt done at 160k, many other new parts. Feels like a new car to drive, everything works. Comes with rims shown (factory 15" BBS) and 14" studded winter tires/rims in great shape. There is a huge list of things that have been replaced, below is a small taste of these and some features. I can give you a full list of what has been done if you wish. Only rust on the car is a couple slight bubbles on the front doors (same doors as a regular E30).

-Bilstein HD shocks
-replaced both headlights and assemblies (with proper 'smileys' from germany)
-block heater
-gray leather interior (not sports)
-front and rear fog lights
-factory 'GDM' trailer hitch with electrics (have wiring converter)
-well sorted stereo (nakamichi, focal, audison)
-engine bay very clean (pwdr coated manifold and rocker cover, many parts replaced: injetors, cap/wires, wiring, hoses, etc)
-Mark D 91 Octane chip
-5 speed: Z3 1.9L shifter with new bushings (oem)
-in dash clock (instead of OBC)
-plenty more maintenance items

Car is currently registered in Sask, was registered in AB up until October. I believe this car came from ON before moving to AB.

PM or call for more info. 306-380-0066

$8000. Thanks for looking.

My dad is still driving my old 1988 Alpine 325ix Touring, and I still drive it every chance I get! this car is an absolutely brilliant package!

I have driven this car and it is solid.

To assist the cause of this sale... only 5273 of these were ever built, making this somewhat rare. The 'X' added 8500 deutschmarks over the regular Touring back in the day. (I think about 17,000 of the E30 M3 were built, to give context.) Post this on S14.net - I think there is someone there who is looking for an E30 325ix Touring.

Thanks for the comments guys! I still have the car and thought I would stop by and post some more pictures up. If you want some pics of the interior, etc send me a PM and I can email some to you. Don't mind the dirt in the pics, its my driver. Thanks

P.S. would consider a trade for a 2004 Jetta TDi sedan or wagon. We're moving in the spring and will be tripling our yearly mileage.

I can't edit the original post, but I might have found another car so I'm

This would by my ideal winter ride - very nice - and in Saskatoon as well. Too bad I don't have money to spend on a car right now!

Engine bay picture. Sorry it was in my garage and realized after its not a great pic. All vacuums lines have been replaced recently, new plug wires, injectors, wiring harness under intake manifold, and fuel pressure regulator.

Must sell $8000 firm

IMHO, next to the E30 M3, this was the coolest E30 ever.

I'm almost tempted to buy it... except that I gave my old 325ix Touring to my dad when I got my V70R.

Someone buy this rocking car!

Hey, I had to join this forum just to compliment you on your car (saw it linked from BAT). That is beautiful! Wish I were in the market (and closer). Best of luck with the sale - I'm sure it will make some lucky e30 enthusiast very happy.

Sorry I just picked up another car, thanks though! I got a 2003 Jetta TDI. Wish I would have waited now though for the trade.

Just so people know, there has been a ton of interest lately and there are currently 5 serious lookers, 4 of which are in the states. Just trying to sort out logistics but if you're interested and would like some more info now is the time.

currently 5 serious lookers, 4 of which are in the states.

I thought it needs to be 25 years old before it can be imported to the US (not that I know anything about importing vehicles)

I actually saw this first on kijiji; I'm in saskatoon area. really interested but if your firm on the $8000 that might be too big a chunk out of the bank account.

If you want something with amazing mpg I got a 2007 zzr250 (kawasaki motorcycle) that gets 60-70 mpg. Spring isn't far away either lol. You can't go wrong fun-wise with a sport bike, even if its a little one (ok maybe cbr125's are pretty pathetic). I took this one to bc last summer and it was awesome.

Right now my bike addiction and bmw addiction are fighting, I still love my bike but if you're interested I'd be game for some sort of trade

-also sgi gives insurance for a steal on <400cc bikes, its $400something a year with no discount

There are tourings in the states that have either been imported from here, or from overseas so there's a way around it

DaveR - yes you're right, there are quite a few cars driving around the US that are imported and less than 25 years old, where there is a will there is a way, it seems.

Erik - I'll have to pass on the sport bike trade, thanks. My garage is already chock full of motorcycles!

First bump!
The car is now parked until someone pulls the trigger. I'm putting the weave rims back on today. Starting to consider trades, what have you got?
