I am just wondering if this is a fair cost to fix the following components on a 1997 E36 318IS:
Water pump
Flex disc
Brake pads/rotors (all, rusted badly)
Belts
Tie rod assemblies
Trailing arm bushings
Alignment

total is $1500.

I am wondering if i should go through with it or shop around for some other places.

parts and labour?? that's a pretty good deal man. bmw alignment charges 150-200 alone.

if it's a bmw specialty shop then yes. Mom and pop? hmmm...stay away from that.

no idea. i'm going to call some more places tomorrow, including that one.

i'm thinking that i might just replace everything except brakes and rotors there, and just go to my other mechanic for that? should be fine, seeing as i don't think it's such a big job.

Keep in mind he is in Philadelphia, I bet prices there are lower than in Toronto

Honestly, if you're getting that much stuff, you need to get it done right. I wouldn't go anywhere else other than RMP Motors. They know everything inside out with the most professional service I've seen. The price is still very fair as well.
