Stock is 2.93 isn't it? 3.15 and 3.23 came on the M3s.

Nope, 3.15 on the M50 cars. That's what you have, Rommel.

Really.... cool. Why is there not more 3.15s for sale on the market then? If they are that common compared to a 3.23 or 3.38 why the heck are they so expensive?!

From my experience there's a whole bunch of 325is owners that don't know their car had the factory LSD, making the diff identical to the '95 M3s. Also, sadly, I know of dishonest shops installing M3 diffs onto M50 cars, pulling perfectly good LSDs (knowingly), then reselling them as 3.15 LSD diffs to the next guy.

Not all of them.

320 has a 3.45
325 auto has a 3.91

Glad I spotted this thread. Mystikal, I have a 1995 325is that I'm about to send off to the wreckers. I've already pulled everything I wanted off the car, including the diff, which leads to my question - the car was a 5spd with NO traction control and with the diff on the floor, both flanges spin in the same direction. Can I be sure it's the 3.15 LSD?

I have no reason to believe that it's not the original diff, but the tag is rusted beyond recognition. I wanna sell it but I want to be sure so I don't inadvertently rip someone off...

how far down is it stripped? can i come down and take a look before you scrap it i need a couple things (door clips, door speakers, door sill clips) selling the m50 manifold?

^^it's pretty stripped. The door panels are gone, but you might be able to get some clips/hardware depending on what you need. As for the manifold, I'm keeping the complete motor for a future project.

You're welcome to come down and take whatever you like off the car, but you'll have to act quickly. I'm hoping to have it hauled away by the end of the week. If you don't still have my #, let me know and I'll PM you...

if you can hold the flanges when you try to turning it's an open diff
if you can't hold it's a LSD
but
I had on my 325is 3,15 LSD and the RPM was 2600 by 100km/h
3,23 maybe...

So I tried that and it seems to be an LSD. I have 3 diffs sitting on the floor in my garage, two LSD, one open. Thanks!
