View Full Version : Cluster stopped working

Hey everyone, i was driving home sunday night during that huge storm, after a huge lightning strike and thunder immediately after, i noticed my whole instrument cluster stopped working... everything  i dont know if it was by chance that it stopped working at that instant or what. So i checked all of my fuses under the hood, they're all good, im gonna check the kickplate fuses tomorrow but was wondering if anyone could give me any tips, also the cruise no longer works... and the buzzer that tells me if my lights are left on. I'm thinking its a main common fuse, but just thought i'd throw my problem out there, thanks in advance ;)

hey. Be sure to check suspicious fuses for the instrument cluster by replacing it not just by visual inspection. I've mentioned in another thread before that i've lost certain guages on my car due to a short circuit condition with no visible blown fuses. After taking a chance and replacing the suspect ones anyway, i got my guages back. With that said, upon visual inspection you may find that the fuse looks good to go but in fact it may be damaged enough to cause problems. Also don't forget about relays, especially if you are saying a couple of different unrelated systems aren't working.
