I've heard that exhaust on a Vortech V1 supercharged E36 M3 about 3 years ago in person at my school. It sound pretty nice.
It's somewhat on the loud side for those who don't like loud exhausts and prefer AA or Supersprint/Ansa.

In otherwords it's similar to the Tri Flow exhaust.

hey Gavin. my buddy , a member on this board (i think its Jonnybimmer) has a brullen exhaust. ive heard it its a nice sound. but supposidy the guys who installed it tuned it down a tad to not make it as loud. but you can hear the true sound still. its a nice deep note, not too raspy, ill have to hear it again to confirm this (its been about a month since i heard it) but ill get back to you, or kick my buddy in the ass to read and reply to this thread.
later .. mark

gavin, get one like randy's dad used to have..it sounded SICK on the M3..a nice classy low tone, without being excessivly loud to attract unwanted attention, but gives off that performance sound

No, the Techno Violet w/BBS LM Wheels had a Tri Flow exhaust

The one I'm talking about is a Dakar Yellow OBD II M3 with Vortech V1 Blower. It sounded nice for sure, close to Tri Flow though.

Hey gav,

I had a brullen on my car. I thought it was to loud and bassy. I think there was way to much back pressure since it wasn't a cat back system, I had to get custom angled pipes welded on. If you do go with any, cat back is the way to go.

I bought the cat back exhaust a couple of months ago with the DTM tailpipes. I really like the sound. I think i paid about $700 for it, plus it was installed. The guy that did it owns Brullen so he was very helpful. I can get you a name and # if you want?

Cat-back refers to an exhaust that's bolted up to the stock flanges right after the catalytic converter and continues back to the rear of the car (see pic I posted easlier). Some shops sell only a universal muffler that must be welded to the stock piping.

It's nice to be able to keep the stock piping intact if you want to sell the car later with it back on (just 2 bolts will change it back). Performance gains are minimal with the cat-back, they usually have a larger (than stock) diameter with smoother bends.

for my last 2 cars I looked at Brullen exhausts, and both times at different places I was talked out of getting one. Both shops had them or could get them but named a number of problems that they or their customers had experienced in the past. I know a number of members have brullens and are happy with them tho.
