Shave your brakes??? I've never heard of that, but i don't see any cons for a 5mm spacer since its so small. Unless they weren't hub centric. I still say get spacers

never a fan on spacers..... i guess if its small like5 mm or something that's fine... but eurostyle (filip) when he had spacers on his old car..... 2 of the bolts snapped just as he got off the hwy... and his rear wheel flew off the car... and when he stopped opened his door... his wheel was rolling right beside him... so since then..... i never liked spacers

as long as you get good spacers (like h&r which are tuv approved) and some good longer lugs to go with them (again h&r is good) it is no problem

Scnell is right, however if you have to get spacers that are thicker than 10mm, I'd be concerned with how well it holds up.

I've had over 10mm spacers before, and known other people with 20mm spacers. None of us have ever had any problems.

What setup were you running, like what kind of spacers and where did you get the bolts? I'm sure there's a few members here that would like to know.*th-up*

He is right. I made the mistake of totaly trusting the wheel shop to take care of it. Spend the extra couple of bucks and go with H&R spacers and a proper stud kit.

thanks guys I will look into h&r spacers. Other than bavarian autosport, any idea where to get them?

I've had H&R, and bmp makes them, but don't know if there hub centric. Thats the biggest problem with spacers is when there not hub centric

you can get them from bmp....they also have their own brand....they are hub-centric as well, depending on the thickness of the spacer...

yeah i got the 5mm spacers, they work great for me, had no problems, but sometimes if they are too big (like mine were) it will rub against your brake if its not perfectly centered, so you gotta (well its a good idea anyways) grind it down about a quarter inch around the whole thing, but thats easy to do

oh and there is the kind that just bolt onto your hubs, but they are alot more expensive, i got quoted about 125 per wheels for one, forget who makes them, but they are made on order, so no one stocks em, at least thats how it here.

but they are (the ones above i talk about) are supposed to be way better quality, and can be thicker without being dangerous
