is the 3.5 maf a direct fit, will i need to do anything else..

For 540i's and 740is sure, but for an E36 i'm pretty sure you need to expand the stock intake boot or get a new one. You would also need updated engine software for it to work properly.

do i have to expand the boot both before and after the maf.... and will ti run fine with the e36.... im planing to get a software done by november...would it do anything bad to my engine till november...

dont put the bigger maf on without the software change.

Yes just keep that bigger MAF stored away till you come to me for software. :D
A bigger MAF is not really required unless you use bigger cams and get the airflow up, a stock one will work fine otherwise.

are the pintle caps on the injectors in good shape? how many miles?

Each of the injectors has 1 or 2 broken fins. If i recall correctly, the car had about 230,000 kms on it and was running fine when they were pulled. The car was an accident write off.

Nope, the ECU has never been opened and was from a 1993 325i 4 door.
