Don't you need proper shocks to go with lowering springs?

i dooo have proper shocks.. i ended up installing billies with stock sport springs since i could not find any..rides great but now im in no rush for springs since i dont wanna remove and do the installation again.. how big is the drop with h&r race?!??!
