No , its not a good idea cause the new filter will trap ll the particles from the ols oil, plus the old oil is black , when u put the new oil in , it will turn black quicker

probably not, man , the filter is over 10 bucks, and your car holds about 7 litres of oil if im not mistaken.

Oil filter is around $5-7. And the car requires about 4.5-5 bottles of oil.

For $20 you should be able to get Castrol GTX syn. blend oil w/ a decent filter. But labour is a different story. I wouldn't change oil myself. You have to get somone to dispose all the waste and it costs money too. Might as well just pay someone to do it all.

DO NOT GO TO CRAPPY TIRE!

Ok, go to BMW and get a filter, then go to a place that specializes in euro cars, and has an oil service reset tool. Seriously, you should have looked into the maintenence costs before bought the car. Personally I do it myself, but I also have the resources too.

Also, Autotechnica, about having to get someone to dispose the old oil, I just put it in an old jug and bring it to Canadian Tire and leave it at the garage bay, they're dump it for you (for free).

Is your filter a screw on, or drop in filter? I have yet to see any drop in filters for the m502 engines there yet.
