Hello everyone, hope all is well.

Just some recent pics of my mk5 gti that replaced my boosted m3. I wanted to go in a completely different direction and as much as I loved my M3 it was time for something new..and turbo.
Its going lower when im properly back from England, and is also awaiting a stage 3 turbo upgrade from apr, with rods and watermeth, which will give it around 500hp from what is planed (much quicker then the m3 thats for sure lol)
The wheels are alphrads off a sl500 merc.......ya they fit pretty dope, stretch and poke for the win...stretching 215/40/18 on the rear which are 9.5 wide.
Unfortunately it is fwd, however I will be dropping a proper lsd in which will help. Anyways I love it thus far and have some pretty big plans.

Enjoy :)
-Neil.

car looks pretty good, love the stance, not too hot on the MB rims, but also wasn't too hot on the MK4 with the CSLs so my opinion might be void there. Cool car, the prices on MK5s now are really good.

lol fair enough.....i did love that car, but it was time for something new...i had it from stock and needed a new project..also it broke down daily lol. I saw the new owner driving it a couple days ago and did not even missed it...just seemed to outdated..and i never thought id say that about an e36 as i loved that shape the most..especially mine. but meh

Nice car! Just if you can, go with a TT setup not single to minimize your lag, especially with a small cube motor. Better yet, increase your ci with a stroker kit if you’re replacing your internals also if you can. Not only will this minimize your lag, it'll also help minimize your psi at a given power level. The more power you can make with the motor with a turbo setup, the better off you are. Take for instance my Vette build I completed last year. Went with the biggest motor I could go with reliably with boost with the Chev LS platform. Nothing like making over 800+rwhp with a paltry 15lbs of boost. One of my Vette aquantances has a boosted forged 346ci LS6 motor and had to go north of 20psi to hit the same power level.

Keep us posted. Gonna be a fun build. *th-up*

thats right.. more of a mtb kinda guy. just got a new frame actually.. i just feel more comfortable on them, can go bigger, and actually ride more consistent and a hell of a lot dirtier on them.

the cars not coming out of storage again until june when i return from England...I did all these mods basically in the 5 days I have been home for Easter. Hence why its not finished. If i was driving it daily then yes, your idea would be a good one...however as my notch will be done and ready by the shop who has my hood right now when I return...no need :)

Thanks for the info.. the APR stage 3 single turbo kit actually has very little lag.. it spools up relatively quick as well.! I can't wait

I will be that low easily...Im not actually that much higher atm.. Im waiting for my springs to settle as well, as they are brand new...I need to take the perches off the coilovers as well to get it that extra bit lower...damn coils.
His is nice though.
I may just screw the coil setup and go airbags...however I have a gf who complains easily, and the sound of compressors in the trunk would be a definite excuse for her to open her mouth lol

Its just hard to tell as there isnt a contrast between my black paint and the tires.....but if u look im basically as low as him...my front just needs to settle more, and the perches like I said need to go..for that little extra bit...and fenders...oh god lol Mine are a giant facepalm

JMW
04-07-2010, 02:27 PM
I cant believe hes stretching a 11" on a 215... im doing that on my 9.5 and I have literally got a pencil width between the tire bead and the lip of the rim...from behind it looks dirty poked and its funny seeing people point at it in my rear view mirror..therefore his setup is just nuts.

is he running stage 2+ like myself..if you know?

Umm.. i think? he's got wather meth setup.. chipped, plus a big front mount.. unsure what that is? stage 2? or what..

edit, and a full 3 inch exhaust i'm pretty sure...

JMW
04-07-2010, 02:34 PM
stage 2+ is a reprogram, full exhaust, downpipe, intake.

hes basically stage 2++ lol His car would def be quick.

Ive got my front mount ordered... and once my stage 3 turbo kit gets here, the rods and watermeth go in, the things gunna fly. Tell ure buddy I def like his gti tho, will prob see him at H20 and random meets if he goes to them. I think I saw his car last summer...If he had the bbs's on then at a meet..but my car was bone stock then

Funny cause I was just talking to a friend last night about his old vw. He had 10grand in go fast mods and when he got his 328 he shaved 5 second off his lap time at mosport first time out.

But with the what you seem to be planning cornering is not a big thing

Id trade it for ure vert tho, as I actually always liked ure car more then my own M3. cant believe i said that lol. But ure vert is dirty.. looks like a pickup truck in ure sig haha
