View Full Version : New to the Bimmer! Scene 1..

Hi guys, I'm new as you may tell. I wanted to post up some pics of my ride. I have always driven a honda something.. and my last car was a 95 Grand Prix, which served it's purpose well. No regrets. I now needed to upgrade my ride and this is what I came out with.

Hopefully I will run across some of you this year...somewhere. The site is quite informative and most helpful and I look forward to being a contributor in some capacity.

So enough babble, on with the show.

These were taken last summer shortly after I got the car. I just wanted to drive drive and drive some more!!! I'm really loving this car.

Thanks to the welcome everyone.*th-up*

That is the correct, CT on Steeles.

As for my plate, I had those since.........READY!?

Yup and this is the first car they got registered to. I had the dreams of doing something that would had made me, well....comfortable and I vowed no piece of crap car was getting this plate. Obviously that Ferrari hasn't arrived yet, nor that dream..lol

Then came along the 540 and when I finally put them on the car, I was like.."now, these plates look like they belong". Until that 360 or 430 comes along, I might as well use the plates.

The only thing I have done so far is tint the car. I'm after a short shifter kit because those football field shifts are something different *mumble*:huh?:!

I thought about dropping it about an inch or so, but I guess I want to take care of any other things that might need my attention, i.e. ball joints, control arms, tie rods, etc.

Owning this car is going to be a new experience with a new set of carrying cost. I'm looking forward to it. I will have a bag of ? from other owners with more experience on these E39's. So I hope you all don't mind.

Thanks again.

Welcome and amazing car! One of my favourite shapes BMW ever made, everything is just perfect on that car *mw* .

Good choice of taking care of the maintence stuff before modding *th-up* .

Looks like low mileage?

I like the car.

Thanks. The car had under 94K's when I got it in June and I already dropped another 20K's up till the end of November. 2500km was from a road trip that I took it on.

In fact I managed to get such great HWY mileage, that when I mention it to anyone, they have this look of disbelief for a 8cyl. It's ok though because I did too. I managed 841km on one tank of gas without any tune up or oil change prior to the trip.

Has anyone else experienced that?
