Which wheels do you guys like more? I cant decide which to get. I am leaning towards the bottom ones however.

you can't go wrong with either, but if I had to pick one, it would be the bottom one

Bottom ones look the best in my opinion.

I like the 5s, gives the car a really different look... and the girl in your avatar is stupid-hot.

Yeah, I would do her too. :)

I like peoples answers, I really was feeling the 5's more. Now I can only hope I can leave it at that and not go overboard like my last car. lol

the mas seems to have a have a huge bias towards style 5s
I love the rims but don't feel they go with the e36 or in particular the silver color
hyper black looks amazing on a silver car!

The more aggresive front on the e46 with the style 5's an easy choice. But I'd like to see the CSL's on something similar to make the comparison more level. But between those two pictures. I'd say the e46 with the style 5's looks better as a whole.

I'd like to see them on an e46 pre face lift myself.

The 5s are... "different." I don't mean that in a bad way, I just don't personally feel them on the E46. The car gives off too much of a modern vibe to rock old school wheels such as these - it doesn't flow with the appeal of the E46 IMO. But hey, it's your car and if you like it - that's all that matters! (so long as there is no BS chrome spinnaz and altezza's on there... *uzi*)

Thanks! It does give a different look, that's for sure.

I see your point of view but you have to consider that the E46 is no longer "modern". But I do understand what you're saying. I do believe if the car didn't have those black moldings all along the sides/front then you would be 100% right that it wouldn't quite fit. For some reason I think they let the car pull off the old school wheels.

Those are 18" staggered E38 style 5s (nee, my sig). They are worth about 4-5x what the CSLs are, in equal condition.

Pretty hard to compare wheels of such different caliber.

Style 5's. Csls are way too common now

Heh, knew someone would mention that. My point was entirely that the car's styling (whether a 2001 or a 2006, or what have you) doesn't suit the appeal of the Style 5s. It's like wearing a nicely fitted tuxedo with a large busy-looking watch with a bazillion dials and markings. Doesn't work. Again, this is just my opinion :)

edit: Just noticed the car in your sig. I think that specific car *might* be able to pull it off. Good luck with your search for the 5s!

VERY true. Look on E46Fanatics BTW. Lots of well known sponsors are coming out with some nice designs for wheels that are relatively cheap. Ie. VMR released the V718 (if the V710 and VB3 aka CSL had babies) http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=737204 or these http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=731333

Those two styles are pretty nice actually. So many choices! I'm aware the prices are off but I never look at price tag when it comes to anything. I'd rather make my decision based on what I like or prefer and not let the price tag get into the mix. Plus getting cost at my friends shop doesn't hurt either.

I like the CLS's. The e46 is a more rounded, stream lined car compared to an e36. I think the 5's should go on an e36. The CSL's on you e46 because they are more rounded a clean, like an e46.

If price was not an issue, Im guessing you prefered the 323i over a 330i??

It was the best thing I could find in Ottawa. Had 126k and in great condition. I had to find a car that was lower on insurance since I got a racing ticket with my previous car. Ill be looking into a newer 3 or 5 series once my record clears up.
