Hello Everyone:

I just bought my '94 BMW 325i a few months ago, and I was just wondering if 15L/100km in cities for this car is normal...? I know its a 6 cylinder but its still a small car. I feed it Premium gas, but is it worth it for an old car like this?

What is the fuel economy like on a 318i from similar year? I am thinking of switching to a 4 cylinder perhaps whenever i get a chance.

Please share your opinons

Thanks

I had a 96 318(now a 2004 325i) with the four banger I would get over 730Km+ on the pure highway before the fuel light would come on, but overall city/highway winter would be in 500-600. And this isn't pushing it.

Not sure about the e36, but on the e46 325i right now I'm averaging about 10.2L/100 Mostly highway/city(90%/10%)

15l/100km is a bit too much - time for the fuel filter and spark plugs

My 318 gets about 1000km pure highway on cruise control at speed limit.

Time for a tune up?

I can stretch my e36 to 700 if im not driving like an ass, partial ass driving with mix city highway i get 550 to 600km per tank. 5 spd 325, oh and tg07lq fuel filter and plugs are easy to do. if you have basic mech skills your good to go

definatly got the basic mech, at least on other stuff, never toyed with a bmw and havent had to touch mine. is the fuel filter pricey or can i get one cheap like my pickup? also not sure which plugs to run. dont need anything fancy just an m50 325 daily with some fun here and there

I have a 318is, and get about 700L/100KM Hwy roughly, and thats doing about 15-20Km over the limit. I dont know about city mileage as I am on the highway a lot.

Your car is getting up there in age, so it would be a good idea to put 91 octane in.
