New car.. good deal?

So, i wrecked my e30 last week, as i stated in my other thread.. after swapping engines, complete suspension, all front end parts.. i thought it would be a fun time to put it sideways into a lamp post.. hurt my ego more than anything.. sux to see it go.. but i cant justify having it fixed.. so, its going to be tore down...

So, i picked up this 1990 e34 locally for 550 bux.. its got the same engine, with 200km on it.. no rust.. the po said it was over heating, and didn't know why.. i assumed it was a head gasket, and it would need a new head.. So attempted to drive it home.. made it a block before the temp gauge was almost in the red, pulled over. added coolant.. drove another block before it started getting too hot again.. This whole time the heat wasn't coming on inside the car.. anyway.. i sat there and squished the coolant lines until the coolant in the over flow kept going down, used about 2L of coolant.. and it finally stopped over heating.. and now have heat inside the car.. *th-up*
anyways.. been driving it around for a couple hours, everything works mint.. pretty decent deal no? 550 bux? comments?

Car won't be as quick and as nimble wit the m20. But I say good buy especially for something with no rust! 5 speed?

Sounds like one of the pipes to the heater core was clogged. Good for you man.

automagic actually.. its pretty gutless.. but w/e.. any idea what parts swap over? ie.. tranny? suspension?

Tranny, flywheel, clutch will swap over. But everything to the rear of that will not; including shift linkage.

Although, it will help a tiny bit having the 5 speed. I'm afraid the gutless feeling will still be around with the m20 in the car.

Suspension setups are different on the e30. If you really want to liven it up, I'd suggest finding an m30 parts car or parts to swap into it.

Looks cleannn nice find! I would patch up any problems and sell it again for more $$ and get another e30! I love E34s but with an M20 that thing's gotta be slowww.
