Guy,

I have a friend of mine who is starting a biz with skinning car parts in real Carbon Fibre..

so basically he can take an interior peice of a car, take real carbon fibre and wrap it in it.. so you get that real carbon fibre look on stock peices..

he is doing this for very very good prices and was curious who would be interested in this?

basically you would have to give him the parts you want skinned and 3 days later you get it back looking and wrapped with real carbon fibre.

this post is just to findout who would be interested in something like this..I will then have him talk to the admins and maybe become a sponsor...

please give your feedback..

thanx

is he using real carbon fibre sheets and appying with resin, or is it Carbon Fibre sheet with adhseive backing? Is it real carbon fibre or carbon fibre pattern?

its real carbon fibre with resin... its the real stuff.. no fake stuff thats self adhesive..

its a long process which is why it takes 3 days.

its real carbon fibre fabric

coo. I've wrapped most of the pieces in my car already, but I have 1 or 2 smaller ones that might require wrapping. Is the finish a dry or glossy finish? Would like to match to existing Carbon Fibre... see pic. Centre console and sift knob have been done now (carbon fibre console and leather shift knob)..... I'm thinking some small pieces possibly.

its a gloss finish, he clears it when he is done.. I believe its the 2 thread carbon fabric..

sounds good, I will post and have him talk to the admins.. he does an amazing job and is maticulous when working..

I think that brake duct idea is great, so why not post the price here?
Also, I wonder how much it would cost to get the rear M-Tech II diffuser done?

Sounds like 3 day turn around time may not be possible if he's so busy !!!

I should have some bits out of my Mini Cooper S that need attention. Is he doing any different colors or patterns of weave or just the standard ..............

zimzimmma
02-04-2010, 08:55 PM
he only does the standard Carbon weave and color for now..but soon as he starts he will be able to provide a 3 day depending on the job.. if its a big job then more work will be involved and it might extend a couple more days.. never the less he doesn't like to rush as each job he is maticulous about.

stay tuned for pics and updates.. his material should be in soon so he can continue..

very similar to what I did with my interior few weeks ago...I didn't use real CF, I used CF fabric instead, didn't like the glossy finish...

How was your experience wrapping the pieces? I ordered 2 yards of fabric myself, still debating to wrap it myself or get it done by someone. 3M Super 77 adhesive spray is what I understand should be used?
