The door check/brake on my mom's car is getting really loud/clunky, so I bought a replacement for it, but it looks like I gotta take off the interior door trim. Anyone tried removing the door trim on an e34? Is it hard, and is there anything i should look out for before I try it?

P.S. The door check/brake is the part that prevents the door from openning too much, and holds it open.

It's not too hard on my E30, I just had to remove three screws, take out the power mirror switch, and then carefully unclip the panel from the door.

If its your front doors you may want to check here (http://www.koalamotorsport.com/)

they sell a front door brake reinforcement kit. look under repairs, then E34, then front door brake or something like that.
Its a common prob on E34s

Nice, thanks man, I may end up getting this. I still have to take it apart to see what damage has been done.
