it might not be coming from the engine, but from the speakers...my car had the same problem and it was caused by a bad ground having to do with the speakers..

when your driving and the rev's go up, the sounds becomes louder right? When your idling is the sound still there or no?

I think it is speaker distortion...I could be wrong but it sounds like the exact same problem i was having.

I would check to see if everything is grounded properly...

you say the noise gets higher pitch as your reving....so your obviously in your car, so you might be thinking it is coming from the engine but might not be.

I'd have to see whats happening personally..if you are coming to the meet on saturday i can check it out for you.

could be from one of the accesories, like a dry alternator bearing or something of the sort....the high pitched squeel is usually related to metal on metal contact.

it sounds like engine whine to me. is it comming from your front speakers? or is it directly in the engine compartment? check to make sure your cars speakers arent inducing engine whine . and if its not then , ,im not sure.. but shamis dude this is been problem #10 in the whole month youve had the car. fix the front end and sell it off. buy a new one. it sounds llike you bought a money pit.

Damn, seems like you've had nothing but bad luck with your car. :( My suggestion is save up some money and bring it to a good mechanic, and get them to re-asses the car and get a tune up.

Is the noise louder in the engine compartment or inside the car?

Sounds like AC/alternator belts and pulleys
