hey , hows it going. just a quick question for you. not sure what parts to go with on my m10 turbo build. i have an 84 318i. i already have the rods and pistons out of a 2002. somebody just offered to sell me a short block from a '76 '02 or parts from it, or full engine or just parts from a 78 320i. what should i be looking at buying from him. i know i have seen guys go with the 320i bottom end, will that drop right into the e30 or not? also what are the benefits of getting the entire bottom end as opposed to just the crank and rods. can the pistons out of either the 2002 or the 320i be used for the build, not sure if they would be my best choice.
cheers
Larry

Maybe new2bmw should talk to me after I turbocharge my 2002tii. It had a Callaway turbo kit when I bought it in 1981, but I took it off in 1985 as Kugelfischer injection is not suited to turbocharging and it always gave me headaches. A few days ago I pulled the 2002 out of storage and I'm pretty sure I'll turbocharge it again. It probably won't be ready to go till 2011 as I'll be working on it slowly and developing an electronic controller to work with a CIS sytem.

its no big deal if i don't get a reply, i can figure it out eventually lol. I will be the first to admit i dont know shit when it comes to building a turbo m10. I have 3 kids so i havn't even touched the car in over a year, will have plenty of time later, just storing it till then. i would rather spend time with the family right now. I am on the other hand always willing to take advice and listen to guys who have advice to offer. i wish everyone luck on their builds.
