So finally i got the car of my friend and joined the BMW club!*rockout*

I used to own a 00 VW MK4 VR6, but once it started giving me lots of problems i sold it. so good friend of mine was buying a VW Phaeton and agreed to sell me his 98 540 for a very good price. since money wasnt an issue for him, he took very VERY good care of the car (one of the reasons i got it). he also did couple of upgrades IE headlights, tails, side markers, spoilers..

So here some pics...

Wow, that is in great shape for its age. I wish my 98 was as clean!

What's going on with your rims? Is that just wheel weight glue/tape?

Welcome. By the time you are done, you'll be certified bmw mechanic.

As for the glue, mine had the same. I just heated it up with a hair dryer and used my nail to scrape it off. Took a bit of time but it worked.

Brake cleaner or wd40, will come off with zero effort. Cdn tire will have both liquids. Electrical contact cleaner works too. they are fairly expensive, but its just a spray and wipe, they work really fast and don't damage. WD40 will take it off well too, just not as fast

Clean em with gasoline only, paint thinner removes clear cote from the lip, so it's no good
