Also looking for a BMW jack from an E36...

Don't do it!

I carry around a rolling jack from CT, like 50 bucks or something. That stock e36 jack almost killed me! Then I threw it in the garbage.

But they are so handy! What kind of rolling jack?

This one:

Nothing like having a 25 pound jack in the trunk for good acceleration.

I want this one for the garage though:

+1 on the small jack the everlast posted. I carry one of those in my trunk (though my car is lowered enough that I have to lift it up a bit by hand to get the jack under the front rocker panel :x )

everlast: I'm not sure I see the appeal of the air jack. I guess it's nice to not have to pump, but is it really worth the extra $150+ over a normal speedy-lift?

Nope, not worth it. But its baller. I have to use custom ramps and a low profile jack to get the front end up, using the front subframe.

I was considering putting air bottle jacks into the cement in the right place for my E30, just for baller factor. :)

Yeah, I have to use a small jack under one rocker to lift the front enough to get a normal jack under the subframe.

I'm trying to convince my dad to put a hoist in his garage... when he had it expanded we set up one bay specifically so that it would take one, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Hoist FTW.

I've seen hoists pop up for sale now and again for under $1000. Usually garage's going out of business.

It sure would eat up the space though. To be honest, I hate jacking my car up, it scares me every time.

Yeah, the space issue is the big drawback of having one... but it makes up for it in ease of maintenance.

I bought the big Michelin Jack aluminium.
It's very low, lift is 3po3/4 up to 18po
It's lightweight, cost around 300$ but periodicaly on sale at 200$
Good for 1ton1/2.
I curently use it for the e30.

Cnd Tire also cary a smaler Michelin all luminium 18po jack for the traveller.

Why not buy the stands, not aluminium but Michelin.

et goûtez à la joie de vivre à la française made in Tawain.

Still looking for the BMW jack. I need one to carry around with me and a trolley is not feasible.
