Hey guys, this is a fav of mine. The customer wanted a bit of juice of out olf 7er, and of course with the 7 mentality - go big or go home! The kit is using a Vortech V3 unit (which is much better as it is internally lubricated - no need for oil lines cluttering up the engine bay). The car hasnt been on the dyno yet, but from average your looking at about 400hp at the crank.

Here are some pics

My question is how long will the transmission last with all that power! lol Even stock they are notoriously bad, but with that much HP!!??? I think a 6 spd swap should be next! *th-up*

Why do you say that? There is many people running this kit on their M62 engines.

I am not saying the kit is bad, but m62 engines are prone to problems and I have seen my fair share of them.

If the proper precautions are taken, the life, reliability and strength of the engine will be restored if you take care of it. If you just slap on FI..your going to have problems - not the case here.

Dont get me wrong, your right about the M62 motor and their little problems.

I agree completely.
I have seen my fair share of turbo / supercharger setups on abused engines that last lasted days :-)

The last nail in the coffin.... E38 guys are getting nothing for their cars. They just keep putting money in them. LS400/430 keep destroying them. Compare resale/reliablity......
