Configure lights to blink when doors locked

Hi Rocco;

I'm looking to have the key re-programmed so that the tailights and corner lights blink when you locka and unlock the car using the remote. Would also like the clown nose (@ bottom of mirror) to flash while the car is locked.. I understand this can be done.

Can you program this and how much? It's an 04 330Xi.

I had this done today at the dealership, ya I know paid through
the nose but whatever, wanted it done and it was. Took all of 10 minutes, paid 1/2 hr service so $75 with taxes. Lights blink on lock/unlock and clown nose flashes.

I want to have this done too but I was told it can only be done if the car has the alarm installed already.

I do not believe you have to buy an actual alarm kit from bmw or elsewhere to get this function. The lights flashing on lock/unlock and clown nose flashes when locked is programmed into the LCM alarm portion. So again as far as I know you are ok, now if you want an actual sound you will need to buy a horn that again there may still not even be a need to have an actual alarm installed should you not have one, just the horn for the sound. Personally I don't have a sound, just flashing function.

This thread is 4 years old, but for the sake of the bump yes this can be done without having an actual alarm system. Got mine programmed by Jon at Bimmersport
