I am going to guess 7psi with the right fuel tuning. (its all in the tuning)

ive heard anything over 6psi, and your asking for trouble. yes tuning makes a huge difference but even then your reducing te engines reliability by quite a bit.

And before some guys on here with charged s52's come blasting about how theyve had their blown for years. Yes it also depends on how you drive it, if your a conservative driver that likes to play around once in a while, your ok. But if you are constantly beating on it, youll do some damage. Id recommend at least getting a commetic head gasket and arp head studs!

just my 2cents

~375whp on a vortech V1. Lots of guys do it btw...see bimmerforums! Obviously good tuning and aftercooling is key.

BlownM3 on here has been blown for a while, runs higher PSI than the setup was designed, has it tuned for each change he makes and drives the living piss out of it. In fact, he twisted a driveshaft last weekend..

This is what happens when your car hooks up at the drag strip

I only ran it for a few days, its way too much for the streets. I turned it back down to 12psi for daily. I mean wheel spin in 3rd ftw!

At 18psi i would say i was very close to 500rwhp.

Im on a custom tune, no pics of yet.

Its an

head studs
mls head gasket
spa manifold
gt35r
550cc injectors
custom charge piping/downpipe exhaust

i did all the work my self.

And I thought our FI scene in Canada was pretty terrible...

FI per square kilometer is pretty terrible. But that FI makes us cover those kms faster.. so.. justified? :)

I heard that a good pnp n machineing the head plus making sure ur internals are in perfect condition would make a 7 spi turbo perfect, and it wont decrease the engines life span or reliablility.

If u want a good turbo car/ engine get the saab... I did some re search and the swiss techno geeks put alot of work in there Saab 900 engine.

Stock M52tu
I think the spec is 8 psi
The ECU was reflashed
and now running on the 94 Sunoco

the onlly thing is you could be boosted to the tits, but going over 150 is a problem. At least in Ontraio.

s52's are pretty damn strong. i'm planning on supercharging mine but nothing TOO crazy, maybe 7-9psi? i've seen/read about many guys running around 10 psi without opening the motor up. but again, it's how you drive the car.

Im thinkin of doing this too, but for now, its still at the maintenance stage.

Also how much hp do you gain with 7 psi? and do you get that crazy boost sound?

I dont know how the rest of the guys. I dont have exhaust yet.
When ideling sound like a hover,*angel*
when gaining boost pre 3k rpms like a MACK truck:mad:
when in boost post 3k rpms like figher jet.*uzi*

for most part it is not the sound that gives you away. it is giant intercoller in front and if people paying attention oil coller in the grill.
However how it is sound with performance exhaust. i will let somebody else to fill in.

Wow, this thread wins for quite possibly the best collection of the worst grammar I've ever seen.
