Does anyone know anything about these rims... they're 4X100, Centra (Made in Germany) 15", Aluminum I believe. I used them for winter rims for a few years, and have been sitting in my garage for the last three years... What the hell are they? Are they aftermarket, or were they factory from an Audi or MB or something? Just curious.

Yeah Google isn't finding too much on these. Centra Type 6's seemed to be the most popular centra rim amongst the VW guys.

I think I'll clean them up and re-spray them... Put some winter tires on them and throw them on my 318is. Hope I can find 205 55R 15 winters. They need hub rings too... Anyone know a good source for hub rings?

Chrome those puppies, stretch a set of 165 section tires on them and sell them to the VW guys for big coin.

They definitely look like theyre from the chrysler/dodge camp.. either from the acclaim or shadow?

Chrysler/Dodge? Made in Germany? I doubt it, but I see where you're coming from.

What size hub rings do you need? Canadian Tire is dirt cheap if they happen to have the right size (their selection is a bit limited).

MB has a history of making super ugly rims and old aftermarket benz rims weren't always too slick either.

My vote: Ugle Benz

7x15 et26 with 4x100? I don't know what the hub size is (but since the OP says he's used them for a couple of years my guess is 57mm), but those numbers plus "made in Germany" probably means either e30 or MkII/III Golf. Definitely aftermarket though, and I'm not thinkin' too many E30s would have them.

But yeah, they do have a "Mopar" scent about them.

those rims look like their off a 1st gen acura integra, say 1987. Or they resemble rims off an early mercury villager, minivan. not lightweight.

I thought the winter storage rims I am using are ugly but those are epic ugly for an E30.
Mine were blue and white now sliver spray paint much better "sort of"

So, apparently they are part of the Kamei X1 body kits of the 80's. They're called Centra style 8's. They had potential to be my ugly track rims, but they weight 18.9 lbs a peice without the centre cap on them (yes I have the caps, screws and locking tool).
There was a set for sale on r3v that sold for $750 recently...

Um, probably not your old rims. I bought them off a VW in Brampton like seven years ago. They've graced four of my past e30's... Come to think of it, they're just as ugly as my Centra 8's!*rockout*

Ouccchhhhhh LOL. If I put the 'bodykit' on, everything including the signals goes back to stock

But for now, I like my homemade clears. Cost me zero. Nadda. Nothing. :D

As ugly as that thing is, if it weren't twittwad green and didn't have square lights, it would be cool. I love the aero bits like the solid lexan side windows with no pillars, single wiper, front displacement plates, etc. I love touring cars.

I love touring cars too, but they aren't outlandish like that...

Still, it is really fast, and it is a cool car not just a monstrosity like many of the things that get posted up as funny bodykits... but damn is it ugly. And not the good ugly.

Speaking of the good ugly, I noticed you asking about these wheels in a thread on R3v, do you know what they are? Does anybody? Ronal something something?

Those are Ronal Turbos I think. Classic!!

If you think that touring cars aren't that outlandish now, have you seen them recently?

They even have large openings on the rear fender to allow air from under the car to out in front of the rear canards. Its over the top lol.

I love Ronal Turbos too but they look like this:

Unless there is some lost other variation that I haven't heard of, those aren't turbos.

And you're right, the DTM cars are getting pretty nuts. I tend to prefer the BTCC though-- cheaper cars, much scrappier racing, but hella entertaining. Just great battles every race.
