Aside from the model year given this is just about as vague as you could make a listing - no indication of body style, mileage, colour, transmission type and so on.

Take a few minutes of your time and post some details about the car if you're actually serious about selling it.

The car does look very clean, but it looks like there might be some rust on the rocker panel. Any interior pics?

List what was done and how, let the buyer decide if it was done correctly.

Just to gauge the price, not to say that it's a good one, but Chuck's Auto has a 1983 or 84 318i coupe with under 100,000kms and no rust (a bit of peeling) and in otherwise very good shape for around $4500. Same colour too. High priced i feel... rather have 91 318is for that price.

I bid $202.00

Duct_Taper
07-07-2009, 06:59 PM
Yeah, that's what is throwing me off on pricing this - if it was an M42 car I would ballpark it at $4-5k assuming it's been restored well. For an M10 I have no idea.

I'll bid $250 :)

CaptainGomes
07-07-2009, 07:07 PM
Hey! You can't bid on your own car! Who do you think you are, Michael Jackson??? Bidding is back to $202! :D

In fairness, one would have to drive the car and get a feel for it. If there is some rust creeping up on the rocker panels, that takes away some value. It's not a desirable model or colour combination either. However, it does look clean and perhaps if it has a great drive, it can go for close to $3k? (bidding still stays at $202 though).

Looks very clean, i'd say $2500 to $3500, depending how much work was done with the restoration (and quality!)...The M10 would be a huge turn off for most buyers, but engine swaps are not hard to come by these days!

Ps. Nice spot, I used to work next door some 12 years ago! lol*wave*

These kinda postings make people nervous. The info is VAGUE ......... and the work restored could mean absolutely anything. If you're selling something restored, before and after pictures are a must so that the "issues" from before and how you dealt with them are known to the buyer. I've seen some GREAT cheese work done at a body shop to make junk look nice.

BTW, absolutely luvin that sign in the background in the second picture !!!

Even if you bought it, and did an engine swap, the early e30's came with an ugly seatbelt light mounted on top of the dashboard, and crappy looking first gen tail lights, ugly bumpers and moulding, and don't forget those higher rear wheel arches. I'd almost rather start with a M42 car that needed body work.

Although, if you wanted a classic chrome covered daily beater, why not? The M10 really isn't that bad.

Yeah that is where to me it also looks like there might be some rust. It could be dirt, but 90% of E30's have bad rust there hence the concern.

safgreen36, look at the bright side. The joking around in this thread is getting your car noticed. It really does show promise and I hope you get a good offer.

I actually prefer the early tail lights! They look cleaner to me... the later model ones are too big. Also don't mind the rear arches, because you can get even wheel placement without rake (similarily, you can get a flat car without uneven wheels)... but that one I can understand why people go for it, because people love to tuck.

Oh yeah, and.... $310!!

230 000kms, the rockers were redone and also the motor was rebuilt 3 yrs ago.Bodywork was done at atlantic autobody in mississauga, motor was done by the previous owner..the car is repainted in its orginal color..ive had 3 people come take alook at it and agree the car is in extremely clean condition, unfortunately there waiting to seel thiers inorder to have money to buy this one, rear brake lines and wheels cylinders were done last yr with shoes and drums also.Front rotors and pads were done last yr.Only problem to this car is the rubber bushing for the shifter is worn so its kinda tight to get into second gear..ill replace that as soon as i find a serious buyer..the car is parked in my garage so no real rush to fix it unless its sold...Its a excellent car to do a swap ..ive got an e36 and prefer to invest in my daily driver then this e30..a newer set of bumpers, rims and a motor would make this car an awesome ride but i dont got the money nor the time so those of u who would like to continue being childish u may continue if ur not interested no need to comment ok..thanks

Thats funny, 2004 i sold my Alpine 86 325e for $6500! Then i 2005 sold a mint 86 325e for $4000...

If you were "giving" away a mint E30, and nobody is taking it, there is something very wrong! Either its a piece of $hit and they dont want it, or you are the worst sales person ever!!! ANY E30 in half decent shape will bring more $$$ then most cars of the same age! (excluding exotics, and classics)

after couple of years and 50k in toronto was no longer mint :), but still fine vehicle. problem is very few people like buying and driving this car, especially the one with metal bumpers, everybody go for newer models. maybe in few years they will be more apritiated if there is any left

ANY E30 in half decent shape will bring more $$$ then most cars of the same age!)

That's mainly because most cars that age are POS rust buckets (as are some E30s). The thing is, unless it's a cabrio or an iS, it's not in (relatively) high demand. They've fully depreciated, so you can probably get what you paid if it's a minter and stays that way, but if it's an eta or any 4-door, you have to be ready to wait for that right buyer to walk through the door. $2800 is really on the high end these days.

it might sell to the right buyer but and 84 318i is the base line lowest and most problematic 3 series that was made. First gen e30. not a sought after car. my tech friends who've been around back when e30's were practically the only bmw around tell me this.
