ok so i busted my oil pan yesterday and i was wondering if i can just switch the crank, rods, pistons etc from an eta motor without removing the block? does everything fit the same?

you'll get a lower compression ratio, but yes - everything fits - the blocks are the same (internals and head differ)

First of all:
Welcome to the "Busted m20 oilpan" club, lol

Second:
Why do you need the rods and all that, did you damage the existing internals as well?

If you ran it out of oil the cyl. walls will be just as damaged as anything else in the bottom end. How long did it run with out oil?

I would seriously just find another bottom end and swap, do the head gasket belt and all that at the same time.

There is no way you'll be able to swap the bottom guts out with the engine still in the car.
